the funniest thing is you imagine 'my type' was enslaved or subjects to 'imperial games' and not the enabler of it...my personal experience from Western Christianity was positive, although later in life I noticed flaws in their understanding regarding specific subjects.

i do not think so, Orthodoxy is only now reviving itself and finding that it has little in common the way western version. western hostility towards Russia makes Orthodoxy pull further away not near to west.

to be fair, i would say western governments have made certain improvements in breaking away from evil practices but in other ways these same practices have taken another shape and form.

Russia is the name of a State, not a Church...plain and simple. What Russia or Russians want is irrelevant with regards to being reconciled unto the Truth...besides, Orthodoxy includes more than just Russia and what Putin wants.

I married a Russian and have a couple dozen Russian friends and all of them would tell you that if America is a cesspit, it's still the worlds best cesspit. One of my friends mom's grew up in a Gulag because her parents were considered dissidents and she was made to watch as Russian soldiers repeatedly raped her sister until she died next to her.

That was at the peak of there "greatness" a time that Putin wants to return to.

News flash for the youngers, "Ugly American" has been a curse word since at least the late 1800's. Possibly even the 1840's. It began the very day the US of A started to project it's military and economic power on the global stage exactly as it had been taught by it's colonial masters in the previous century.
It joined the long litany of previous curse words such as "Brits", "French", "Bloody Spaniards", "Diabolical Chinese", "Red Vikings", "Brutal Moors", "Greedy Romans", etc etc etc... How far back do you want to go? What Geo-political region are you from? I guarantee that at some point it was an aggressor cursed by all others.

When I was in the mil in the early 80's, I remember sitting in a road side cafe in Rome watching a group of young people protesting the "Damn Yankees" in a park that had just reopened after being completely renovated by US enlisted volunteers from the NATO bases in the local area. The day before everyone had been falling all over each other to praise those very same "Damn Yankees" for their loving kindness.
