Blood Sport project vows to game on despite Kickstarter suspension

Is this real, ATS? Yes...A crowdfunding project on Kickstarter whose goal is to draw real blood when you lose in games such as Mortal Kombat, etc. attempted to get funding recently. The funding campaign was unsuccessful but now creators are combining the idea with that of a Blood-Drive so that individuals can donate blood while taking hits or sustaining damage in a game. The name of this endeavor is "Blood Sport."

A crowdfunding project developing gaming hardware that draws real blood plans to keep working to turn its prototype into a blood-donation system after Kickstarter suspended its campaign.

During its campaign, Blood Sport only managed to get $3000 of its $222,000 goal. It's creators are hoping that by tie-ing in actual blood donation companies, they can get the much needed boost to meet their funding goal.

Would anyone play this kind of game? Are there limits to the amount of blood one can lose to the game? What says ATS?

I'd rather see a kickstarter campaign to bring back the games in the Colosseum, AND we can donate all the blood that gets lost!

Not to mention undamaged skin/organ tissue.

That's a big NOPE.jpg from me. I can see plenty of health risk implications from this. Would have to be in a controlled environment, which would be reasonable in tournament conditions, but definitely not for private use. Can easily imagine someone passing out from stress coupled with blood loss... would require electrodes and an EKG to be sure it doesn't suck out more of your blood if you go afk from going belly up onto the carpet. Lots of things could go wrong with this.

If someone is willing to stick a needle in their arm for an extended amount of time while simultaneously attempting to focus on a game, then why not just donate the blood and get it over with? You're already half way there anyways.

Some people already die just playing the games from sleep deprivation, add in blood loss? lol.

one small leap from "Blood Sport" to "Lets throw convicts in an arena and whoever dies first will be donated to science!"

If they apply the same concept but link a sperm donation device to internet porn, they may have something.

The only downside will be the sperm banks full of basement-dweller DNA.
