Not necessarily.
For some reason, I really don't know why, never looked at it from a medical point of, but I don't bruise. Or, if I do, I have to be hit HARD. I mean at least hard enough to break bones. I've taken some pretty hard, repeated punches and never showed signs of being in a fight. Maybe a bloody nose. Maybe. Just because his face doesn't look like a slaughter fest, doesn't mean he wasn't hit.

Getting punched in the face by a 300 pound man would typically leave a much more noticable impression. Ever seen a boxing match? Ever been in a street fight? Punches, bare knuckle especially, don't leave slight red marks on the face. They leave gashes, massive bruises, or in many cases broken facial bones.

Those images don't look like an injury sustained from a punch.

I would be scared, yes, making bricks in my pants if some giant dude had a go at me and then tried to get my gun. But what good am I to the community dead or incapacitated if I go back after the dude I injured? One who is obviously aggro?

This is the issue with LE and some (I stress this word) trigger happy citizens. WHY do we need guns for protection? Once upon a time it was just a swift kick to the nads.

It's quite likely that the officer believed, very reasonably, that the criminal (remember, he had just robbed a store) was on PCP or some other drug that made him crazed and impervious to pain. Either that or he was psychotic. What else would explain him reaching into a police car, hitting an officer and grabbing his gun?

I know that the world has racist people, and that is a a very idiotic fact. Having said that, just because he was black does not mean he was shot because he was black. If he would have been a thug-life white dude, he would still have been shot. You reach into a police officer's car, bad Doo Doo goes down. That is what the grand jury decided.I don't believe he reserved to die at all, but the cop was following protocol. My main point is to please stop with the "because he's black" about every crime against a black man/woman. It just makes people believe that there is more racism than there is, and that's the last thing we need.

Does this fit Wilson's story well? Seems to me that it was Wilson mostly running at Brown if Brown ended up 10 feet away from Wilson when he died.

If he had time to wonder or worry about that, the answer was likely no. If his life was truly in danger, he would not have stopped to ask himself that question.

He was looking for justification to shoot Brown, IMHO.

I think these people are confusing what they see on TV and in films with reality. Unless they're hit in eye or nose or cut, professional boxers who have been hit hard enough to be knocked out don't look that bad -- until probably the next day.

You are the reason there is a race problem, I'm friends with a lot of blacks, whites, browns, and yellows and none of them think that anyone is targeting them because of race. Its personal accountability for your own actions, and to say that white people don't get mistreated by cops is truly ignorant.

In all of this I cant stop wondering about how many times stronger Hulk Hogan would be than a 5 year old.

Taking a highly scientific approach - we take a prime Hogan, circa '87, who's squatting 650, benching 400 and is 6 foot 9.

Then we take an average 5 year old boy that weighs 40 lbs and is 4 feet tall but might- as an extreme example- be able to lift 100 lbs.

Using MMAths I calculate that with a near 3 foot height advantage and a 250Lb weight advantage, Hogan would be 6-10 times more "functionally strong" than a 5 year old.

That cop must not even lift bros.

There is a point to be made here...as a white man I have yet ((other than one stupid incident)) to be harassed. I've been pulled over for legit reasons where I was absolutely guilty....yet been let off many times. Yeah nowadays I don't speed around or do dumb # like when I was in my young 20's...but I was never touched.

Yes, if appropriate. When the person assaults you while reaching for your gun, then turns around when you get out of your car to try and make an arrest and starts charging you (with a logically deduced intent to do further bodily harm), sometimes you have to result to the last resort.

You know, I'm kind of in the same boat except for when I was a pothead in school and was harrassed by cops relatively often because of the way I looked and acted (baggy clothes, kind of sh*tty attitude, etc.). But I think that's really the point--it was because of my look at attitude (and sometimes actions), not because of my skin color (I'm white, btw).

But for every story like yours, KyoZero, there is a Hispanic, Black, Asian, Middle-Eastern, etc. person who also has never experienced harrassment at the hands of the police. And then there are many white people who do and mimic the anecdotes of black people who talk about harrassment. So it's definitely not enough to say that it's all about skin color--the micro-culture of neighborhoods has a lot to do with it, too.
