In case anyone is interested...

Have yet to watch it myself. It isn't as though their statement will change anything, though.

It wouldn't surprise me if that was true. I bet there are just tons of interesting stories about this whole fiasco. We probably won't hear too many though.

I was actually pretty touched by a few things I've seen among the protesters. The one guy making sure people were OK, finding people to push a woman in a wheelchair.

Being a threat doesn't require being armed.

Your point moot as well.

My point is moot or you don't agree with it?

Are you telling me that the fact that the victim was unarmed is completely irrelevant?

Would you charge after someone you knew that was carrying a gun?

Ok, so 18, still a kid. No gun, shot by an adult police officer with one. Does that offer clarification? Do cops shoot first, and ask later, or are they trained in restraint when dealing with children?

Mute point, perhaps, at this point.

im confused
was brown an adult? barely an adult? a minor? a child?

how come people cant even agree on that?

A mute point is one in which there's no response worth hearing. It's splitting hairs then. Depending on your POV, whether you have kids or not, age is a delicate balance between being a child, or an adult. I have kids around that age, and to me, they are children. They make bad decisions, and come home after stealing cigarillos from the store. They don't get shot by police. They make mistakes, yes, and at that age, legally, they are adults, but mentally, haven't proven their worth to society.

Just because you reach a certain age doesn't make you a full blown responsible adult. It takes time, compassion, and a few hard lessons to learn how to be an adult. Michael Brown will never have that chance.

I spoke clearly.

Your interpretation or lack thereof isn't my problem.

Now let's remain on topic. The one we are discussing.

Thanks!

He was unarmed.

Yeah, but if he did indeed go for the officers gun he wasn't going to be unarmed for long.

How exactly am I off topic in my response? Are the details of the case for which these protests and riots are occurring not pertinent to the discussion at hand?

It's these kinds of things that give me a bit of hope for our species. Nevertheless, if/when the people stand up en masse against the tyrants of our day, we can expect no less than for things to get real ugly, real fast.
