WASHINGTON -- A two-year investigation by the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee has found that the CIA and the military acted properly in responding to the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, and asserted no wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees.
Debunking a series of persistent allegations hinting at dark conspiracies, the investigation of the politically charged incident determined that there was no intelligence failure, no delay in sending a CIA rescue team, no missed opportunity for a military rescue, and no evidence the CIA was covertly shipping arms from Libya to Syria.
But Rice's comments were based on faulty intelligence from multiple agencies, according to the report. Analysts received 21 reports that a protest occurred in Benghazi, the report said —14 from the Open Source Center, which reviews news reports; one from the CIA; two from the Defense Department; and four from the National Security Agency.

You're trying to tell me that all of a sudden the right wingers are all lovey-dovey with the administration after two years of incessant belly aching over Benghazi? That all of a sudden they've decided to sweep it all under the rug because of some "secret government" backroom deal making? One of their biggest political weapons is no longer of interest and they're going to toss it in the trash?
That claim is even more preposterous than the entire Benghazi scandal! I guess you were one of those wingers screaming from the rooftops that justice needs to be served and you just can't accept that your Holy Grail turned out to be a discarded coffee cup.

Like you I also don't have wings nor do I wear a hat as I live in a different country and am wholly independent in my choice of elected officials. I apologize for the jabs.
What you say makes sense but one cannot deny that political parties have no problem with removing their nose to spite their face. The level of conniving and deceit is more applicable to the acronym agencies than any party. Quite frankly I find politicians suffer from arrogance, ignorance and incompetence and not necessarily in that order.
Thanks for your replies.
Guess this takes one of the keystone arguments away from the Obama/Clinton/Rice haters.
"To this day," the report said, "significant intelligence gaps regarding the identities, affiliations and motivations of the attackers remain."

I'm trying to wrap my head around your logic. You're saying the same talking points and arguments for what occurred at Benghazi are both right and wrong? You're saying that, on the one hand, everything the GOP establishment said initially was correct, but now, everything they say is wrong?
It sounds like you've accepted the initial, incorrect assessment of what transpired and you won't, for whatever reason, accept any alternative outcome because 'they're in it for themselves.'
