Just wanted to post this for those of us that track these kind of things. Seems like it was quickly handled with no injuries or releases.

-LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -
Officials said no chemicals were released and no injures were reported Sunday morning after a fire broke out in one of the units at the Phillips 66 Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex.

"The plant's in-house emergency response team was immediately called to the scene and extinguished the blaze," Collins said in a news release. "There were no injuries and no impact to the community. As required, the refinery notified all appropriate local and state agencies."

Sounds small and like they handled it quickly, however, I still expect a huge spike in gas prices now.

The refineries seem to be the weak link in the supply chain and is the point where our prices can fluctuate due to the smallest hick-up.

The fire could have been in a non-fuel related part of the plant. If it was fuel supply related the down time seems minimal, not enough of an issue to be noticeable on the large scale. I wouldn't be concerned.
