Israeli soldiers have shot and killed Fadel Mohammed Halawa, 32, as he was out looking for song birds, which nest in trees near the Israel/Gaza border. He is believed to be the first casualty since the 50 day war between Israel and Hamas, which ended in August.

This type of murder is c arried out so often by Israeli soldiers that it is surprising it makes the news. And that is the problem it is so common and world is doing nothing about it.

In the UK we have a group of Jewish people running a witch hunt on a chairman of a football club because he said that Jews chase money more than other people.

We have a group of people through manipulation of our law that have in actual fact put themselves above the laws of the world and when you do that, you appear to be able to get away with murder.

Are we right to keep the laws that protect the jewish nation when it carries out such murders without any worry about prosecution. War crimes seem to be brushed under the carpet yet any other nation would have its people who ordered these crimes to take place put on trial.

Is it healthy for one set of rules for one group when they exploit their position to such an extent? Just wondering.

There's a difference between Judaism as a religion, and Israeli as a nation.
And it is not a witch hunt, it's a community annoyed at a man making racial stereotypes who should have known better, he also said Chink wasn't a racist term. When really we all know it is.

It's the first one in almost 2 months, and they fired multiple warning shots which he ignored.

Israel basically can murder any Palestinian they like without any consequences. It's shooting fish in a barrel.
They destroy the infrastructure, destroy the schools, limit medical help, building materials, then pick the people off.
They Target children playing for goodness sake.
Israel has lost it's soul.

Most of that is a lot of lie coated in a bit of truth. Nearly everything they do is in response to terrorist attacks. In war things happen, they have made mistakes. Of the two groups, Palestinians share almost all the blame as they were the ones to reject the 2 party solution and chose war to erase Israel. After losing they kept up terrorist attacks and continued to refuse a peaceful solution.

I think I'll go get some mushrooms, look there's plenty over there, oops I'm in a mine field. Get the picture? Gaza-Israeli border is definitely not the place to be walking innocently about. Put yourself in harms way expect to get harmed.

It's not a lie, I'm sorry but not everybody views things the way you do, doesn't mean what they say is a lie. Israel is destroying the infrastructure, bombing them back to the stoneage.

The "first casualty" since the 50 day "war" ended in August? Really?

From what I have seen, there have been a hell of a lot more Palestinian casualties of Israeli beatings and murder since then!

Whoever is naive enough to believe he was looking for song birds is beyond redemption.
Whoever is ignorant enough to actually go looking for songbirds in a time of war probably deserves to get shot.

Can we stop parroting the lie that Palestinians cause more harm than the Israeli army please?

Yes because people don't need money to eat in times of war, Palestinians wanting to eat? of course they deserve to die.

Nearly everything they do is in response to terrorist attacks.

This is the claim Israel always makes but how often do they back that claim up with proof?

In war things happen, they have made mistakes.

Sorry but Israel doesn't use the point and shoot rockets that Hamas uses they are using the latest tech which is guided so if they hit a school or hospital then they are doing it on purpose.

Palestinians share almost all the blame as they were the ones to reject the 2 party solution and chose war to erase Israel.

Did you think the terrorist that founded Israel would have gone along with a two state solution? After seeing the massive theft of land in 67 committed by Israel that only proves the Palestinians were right.

After losing they kept up terrorist attacks and continued to refuse a peaceful solution.

How nice that you choose to turn a blind eye to the constant illegal acts by Israel and try to place the blame on the victims. Also if you had paid any attention to the peace negotiations you would find that it is Israel that keeps any form of peace from happening.

Yes because every Palestinians is just another terrorist waiting to kill an Israeli. Instead of blindly believing Israels propaganda do a little research the Eurasian blackcap is a common winter visitor to Palestine. So yes he could have been looking for songbirds.

Israel has declared war again? When? There is supposed to be peace between Israel and Gaza right now. My bad I forgot when Israel murders someone they are at war when a Palestinian kills someone then they are violating the peace.

In terms of a Palestinian man from Gaza being killed by Israeli soldiers? Yes, i believe it is. At least, that is what the media was reporting when i found the news.

But you're right, there are definitely more casualties of Israelis and Palestinians since the war came to an end. Many fear the prospects of a religious war.

Research eh?
I lived there..... the old-school tactic of picking fruit from a tree, chasing a lost goat, looking for songbirds etc..... always ending on the border fence, is a well known one... im not saying he wasnt looking for songbirds (he probably was innocent in this specific case) however, he must be nuts if he thinks going near a border fence is not gonna create trouble, hence the expression - naive. and that makes me question intentions to begin with.

Is that a joke? Hamas refuses to recognize Israel as a state...... openly calls for the destruction of zionism. that is not peace.

The article states that the man was either farming or looking for song birds, which 'nest close to the boundary with Israel'. They are a lucrative product in the Gazan markets. If one is looking for a song bird, it would make sense to go looking where they are usually reported to be found. And i don't know if it is naivety or just plain survival in this case. Obviously, the man would have weighed up the prospects of acquiring a song bird with that of injury or death. In this case, it seems he took a risk, and it was one which didn't pay off for him.

This is speculation of course, but it seems most logical to me. It's either that, or the guy wasn't told of the no-go zone inside Gaza. If that is the case, Israel needs to communicate that factor better.

I don't think he was a militant or anything of the sort. Palestinians in Gaza wouldn't be foolish enough to provoke further destruction of their homes and livelihoods. Let alone a man wandering the fields on the Gaza/Israel border.

Is that a joke? Hamas refuses to recognize Israel as a state...... openly calls for the destruction of zionism. that is not peace.

And Israel continues to be an occupying power. If Israel returned its stolen land to the Palestinians, peace would be all but assured. It remains the root cause of conflict between the two nations.

I don't care if you lived there or still live there facts are facts. That songbird does go there in the winter and yes he could have been looking for them. Animals do not recognize borders so if you want to see them you have to go where they are.

Well then we can also say that Israel refuses to recognize the Palestinian state and calls for the destruction of Palestine. You apparently never bother to read the Party that Benny belongs to charter have you. In their eyes there will never be a Palestine and all the land belongs to them. They are better than Hamas a organization that Israel helped to create.
