Nah, you wait, the ACLU will hook up with her and they'll pull a Shirley Sherrod.

What double standard? Well I know the imaginary one you are implying just don't see how it applies here.
She was punished for saying it, she got fired, what more do you want?

Except free speech in America only applies to anti-white statements and nothing else.

and yet... she was fired for referring to some indeterminate group of white people as "crackers."

I find the 'kill yourselves' comment to be the most offensive. I have never been offended by the word 'cracker' no do I understand why it is a slur.

It was probably that more than anything that got her in trouble.

But how does it apply here is the question you avoided.

She made a statement that included a racial slur and was fired.

Or she made a statement about violence that could be construed also as a threat along with that slur.

Would you want someone teaching your son or daughter who just told them to kill themselves?

No I 100% agree with the punishment she got.
She is in a position that she doesn't get to make a comment like that

I think people are getting too bent out of shape these days.

I remember a times when we would say, "Sticks and stones. . . " (If you don't know the rest, don't bother reading anymore)

She wasn't telling people to murder wee babies in their cribs with salad forks!

She offered her opinion.

Which you cannot do anymore unless you want to get punished.

Here's a different slant on that double standard thing, as in the one where people pretend to be one thing or one way in public, when they think people are watching, as in in a classroom or in front of parents, and then let their true colors show when they think no one sees or they're in a situation they feel safe enough to be themselves in.

Just be you and the rest...well it kind of takes care of itself. That's half the proble with this world. The fakers. The fakes. The liars. The ones who believe they're pulling one over on everyone else, when or if it matters.

So..yeah...the fake stuff is what bothers me even more, way, way more, than any perceived racial anything.

It's a double standard that's what I'm "upset" about.

Not falling for games here.

Games?

I am as cracker as they come, I just wanted you to clarify is all.

This term is said to have originated in England before the 16th century, refering to the lower class whose diet primarily consisted of "crackers", actually biscuits. Many of their descendants were sent to the Georgia penal colony, hence "Georgia crackers." White people had invented this name for themselves before the first slave was brought to America, although it is still in use today by mostly older blacks referring to whites. Was probably redefined in the days of American slavery by the slavemaster's "Crack" of the whip.

No a cracker is the slave slang for the one that cracks the whip. The irony being, that person is usually a slave.

I'd be more inclined to fire this teacher for the inability to communicate a coherent thought.

Thanks for that.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what she meant.

She was fired

www.foxnews.com...

Good riddance. Any white teacher using the "n" word would have been gone. She is being just as racist and got what she deserved.

youre right about that....
it would have been a national travesty if some white person said anything like that...
might even cause people to march and protest and riot....
people would be burning # to the ground demanding that persons head.....bet your ass

For once I can say: good post Beezer. The lady wasn't Adolph Hitler she was responding to something she felt was unjust

Though she should have not done the slurs or the kill yourself comment. She may have been drunk and sorry right after she posted those comments.
Sometimes forgiveness can work.

lolz

Thank you.

To be punished to such a degree for saying something some may consider stupid is an over-reaction, in my humble opinion.
