i am a couple hrs from dallas and my mom was recently admitted for kidney stones and i can say that they definitly done there series of questions well. So things seem to be working. I also have a sister that is a trauma nurse in dallas and i have heard nothing negative from her. She was at the point of quitting if any more cases came up but she is still working at one of the adjacent er's to presbyterian. i will inquire more though...
There was a member on one of the other Ebola threads ( I can't remember which one, there are so many threads!) that said she was a nurse or knew someone who was a nurse and she had to sign a confidentiality agreement about keeping quiet. I will see if I can find it and post.
Maybe your sister isn't allowed to say anything?

Perhaps not but i can say that i feel safe and have not heard of any rumors much less reports of more cases. They would not be able to keep things quite if things were at a level that we should be concerned. Sure i would bet money that one or two cases have been sealed but that does not pose much of a threat to us overall. I expected things to be in the numbers of thousands by now if this virus posed a real danger to the population. That does not mean i do not feel for anyone that gets caught up in some quite conspiracy but it seems like we will all be fine now. Even if we say the rumored reports are confirmed cases the numbers are still very low compared to what the possibilities were when this started. I do remember some rule of the cdc that allowed silence on thee matters until 3% of the population was infected. That is likely just false or interputed wrong but i think it is true to some extent.

Actually I have a golf buddy who is amrried to a dept head at a hospital in my area and I curiously asked him 2-3 weeks ago what his wife was saying about whats going on re: ebola and he have me a odd look and said he can't really say as she had to sign a disclosure agreement of some kind that make it very clear not to share info that happens at the hospital with anyone (in his case she wont even tell him anything). I assume knowing they are close that if she felt so compelled not say anything to him then whatever she signed must have seriously scared her. He is one of the most pragmatic honest guys I know so I have no reason not to believe it.
Based on the above and other stories I have no doubt our govt is and will keep health care staff from talking. They are already doing it with the media thanks to Czar Klein.
Personally its a matter of when and to what extent not if!

In 2002 I think it was, I had a temp of 107. YES< it WAS that high. I am pretty sure I have suffered some brain damage from it as well, but continuing on....
they never TOLD me what I had. That is the best way to keep it quiet. They just asked me if I had been to africa, or around anyone who just got back from africa, and then they sent me home with 2 giant baby blue colored horse pills. I was in bed for almost 4 months, barley remember it, a friend came and fed me and made me use the bathroom and bathe etc that whole time, and then my life has never been the same since.
They never actually told me what it was. They just ushered me out of there as fast as humanly possible, and well, they still seem to do the same thing, if I go to the ER for any reason, they look at me in horror and rush me home. I don't really get sick any more though, but I am still curious if it was Ebola back then, and if I would be immune now.

I wish I knew as well, I think I have a right to know actually, I also feel terrified of the fact that, well, what if they thought I would just go home and die or something???
WHAT were the 2 light blue HUGE pills they gave me? Why only 2? Why no antibiotics or prescription of any kind etc?
NEW YORK (AP) - The fiancee of Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan has a book deal.
Louise Troh’s memoir is scheduled for April 28, to be published jointly by The Weinstein Company and The Perseus Book Group. Weinstein tells The Associated Press the book currently is untitled.
