Well, I responded to those saying it was racism so I don't know how your post is relevant in the context of that discussion.

On an equal footing, it would be,"Vote for our party. We will do this, that, and let me tell you how we will do it."

On an unequal footing, "Vote for us. Don't ask us how we will accomplish things. Just vote for us."

Last time I checked, there was no royalty in America.

Just think if a person of non-color and a non-Democrat said this:

To a mostly black audience (paraphrasing - obviously - smiling and joking)

You know we have your best interest at heart on all the issues. So don't worry your little heads about it. Just vote my straight party ticket and we have your back. Then go out and celebrate with some down home fried chicken!
