Boston Mayor Tom Menino

We lost the longest running Mayor in Boston's History. He had decided not to run a again after being Mayor for over 20 years, but surely would have won despite his failing Health. Dubbed affectionally "Mumbles Menino" he passed away Thursday from Cancer.

What is extraordinary is the turnout, people visiting City Hall by the thousands in a Nor'easter Storm and lining the Streets following the Funeral Procession.

He wasn't perfect, but damn I wish their were more Politicians like him.

Rest in peace Mayor. You will be missed.

It was surreal enough with a new mayor and now Menino is just gone... such a strange feeling for a Bostonian. No one's perfect, certainly not politicians but Boston was in 'good' hands as far as that goes. RIP.

I don't agree with a lot of what Menino did, but I still liked him. Sad he has passed. He is very much a Boston Icon.
