Oh well in that case.

If one Israeli dies, I suppose that's carte blanche to keep a million people in what amounts to an open aired prison.

Yeah seems legit.

Since the year 2000.

Number of Israelis killed: Approx. 1,885

Number of Palestinians Killed: Approx. 9,100

Yup, that's an appropriate response.

Either side have a lot of blood on their hands. One side has the means to end the conflict, diplomatically.

I noticed you didn't use ATS Bracket code quotes. That of course would have been a violation of TnC. Nice "edit" of my post and the reality of whats really occurring in Palestine.

well if someone attacks you, is not a correct to respond with overwhelming force to stop it. or you just suppose to say that's alright.

Hamas are the ones who won't settle for two party states, they vow that until all Israelis are dead there can be no peace.
it's not Israel's fault that hamas started a gun fight with a knife.

A four-year-old Israeli boy was killed by a mortar shell fired from the Gaza Strip on Friday afternoon. The boy, Daniel Tragerman, was at home with his parents and siblings at Kibbutz Nahal Oz in the Sha’ar Hanegev Region, close to the border with Gaza, when the attack took place.

An Israeli security source said the fatal shell was fired from near an UNRWA shelter in Gaza.

One child killed and two cars "destroyed" by one mortar round? Sounds like a misfire from Israel. Because all the "ARMS tunnels" were bombed shut, remember? There are no mortars in Gaza, the IDF bombed them all out of existence. Except for the piss and sugar bottle rockets, of course.

the tunnels going to Egypt were closed by Egypt, not Israel.

UNITED NATIONS - About 80 percent of tunnels used to smuggle goods and arms into the Gaza Strip from Egypt are "no longer functioning" due to a crackdown by the Egyptian military after it ousted President Mohamed Morsi this month, a UN official said on Tuesday.
UN says Egypt crackdown closes 80 percent of Gaza smuggling tunnels

the tunnels going into Israel were for attacks, don't try to pretend they were for that teht weren't using them for that, they even admitted that.

Meaning its not alright for the Gazans to defend their 'homeland'? Poor double standard.

That "massive" tunnel complex existed to augment what meager supplies the Gazans received from their Israeli Overlords. Which is periodically cut off, see thread title.

They are starving the prisoners by cutting it all off now.

do a search for rocket and motor attacks and see the damage and death they have caused, they're not firing them just for the fun of it. they know that the weapons they are using are weak, but if they killed just one, and cause any kind of damage it's a victory in their minds. it's called gaurillia warfare.

Guerrilla warfare Guerrilla warfare is a form of irregular warfare in which a small group of combatants such as armed civilians or irregulars use military tactics including ambushes, sabotage, raids, petty warfare, hit-and-run tactics, and mobility to fight a larger and less-mobile traditional military.

That's illegal in most countries actually. If an intruder breaks into my house here in Canada, and I use " disproportionate" amounts of force, I also go to jail.

So no, it's not correct to use 'overwhelming' force. That's not an eye for eye, it's more like that's an eye for a whole village.

Hamas are the ones who won't settle for party states, they vow that until all Israelis are dead there can be no peace.

Oh don't give me that. Israel continues to decrease the land available to Palestinians with housing projects, which most of which were deemed to be illegal by the UN anyway. Not that the UN has any real power.

Have you read the news lately? Have you seen how things are falling apart in Israel?

Soldiers committing suicide at an ever increasing rate.

The President comes out and calls Israel a sick nation.

Tides are changing my friend and people are realizing that you cannot go around treating people this way, regardless of what is going on. If there was a middle eastern nation doing this to a certain group of people within their own borders, we'd have turned them into a glass crater, all in the name of 'Freedom & Democracy".

it's not Israel fault that hamas started a gun fight with a knife.

I'm left speechless by this sentence. I cannot believe that you would OPENLY support the killing of 10 Palestinians, for every Israeli. Furthermore in a joking, sarcastic manner?

And to think, there used to be a time where we treated all human indecency the same, but I guess that's not the case anymore.

Poohah. The IDF bombed the tunnels in the south, it was a major part of the current "campaign".

But bombing can only accomplish so much. Now they are continuing the siege by closing the borders that "officially" allow "goods" in.

It is the same as always "campaign" to eradicate the oppressed people of Palestine, errm excuse me … "Gaza".

if they hadn't been trying to sneak in war materials, and construction materials for the raid tunnels into Israel through the ports. they would still be open and have no need for tunnels and would be receiving the good they need to survive. until hamas is out this will contiue to go on. the Palestinians voted them in they need to run them out and then i bet you dollars to donuts that the fighting would stop.

I'm glad you got to it before me but here's some links on the phosphorus used and the non explosive rockets made by hamas in garages.

america.aljazeera.com...

And the ports are closed due to occupation and they (Israel) shot live rounds at an aid flotilla coming to port and killed one of the aid workers aboard.

would you prefer them to go back to war as is their right since an attack from Gaza is a breach of the ceasefire? who cares if the attack caused damage or not, an attack, is an attack. also closing of borders is every country's right regardless of provocation or not. perhaps whoever was behind the attack should have thought of that ahead of time. of course they likely figured on a military response they could have used against Israel as per norm.

Israel hasn't honored the ceasefire. Gaza is not a nation unto itself so the military actions that Israel commits in the West Bank violates the ceasefire. Not to mention Israel didn't live up to all the agreements it made to Gaza so it was never in place anyway.

I'd prefer logic and reasoning,

Logic and reason would show that it is not wise to attack Israel, or let terrorists use you as a human shield to attack Israel. nor is it wise to elect a government that has vowed to destroy Israel....

Also Egypt has closed it's border crossing with Gaza.

Yes logic and reasoning would say that the people of Gaza should pack up and move into the desert because the European land thieves want it all. Seeing how Israel's whipping boy is running Egypt I'm surprised it took him this long to enact the wishes of his Zionist masters.

Logic and reason would also dictate if you don't want to be attacked don't occupy other peoples land. Stay within the part you were illegally given.

And the settlement rate has still continued to grow which is clearly an act of provocation to force a response from hamas or any one.

If a random person shoots or throws rocks or even fights or threatens any Israeli then thats a green light for them to blame hamas and go full scale war against against a few people in a dense crowded city. Them claim self protection ?

There's never going to be peace as long as those two peoples share a border. Not happening. It's time to move on to "Plan B".

Now all they need is a solid workable "Plan-B". You'd think they could come up with some ideas. Sigh.

want to throw stones too ?
