No, more like they should not be joking about rape when they are sworn to protect and uphold laws that specifically forbid such an act. IF these two cops actually do nothing when a crime is committed then that is a different story but just talking about random stuff here and there is hardly proof they are not performing their jobs correctly!!

Well when cops are just joking around about people deserving to get robbed, turning a blind eye to crimes and very distasteful jokes about rape, it is kind of an issue.
These are cops on duty not joe and bill at the bar after knocking a couple back.
You can clearly see they knew what they were doing was wrong cause as soon as the camera came up the demeanor flipped 180.

Maybe it's the haze of age, but when I was a little girl, I don't remember men acting like this. Grown men then had respect for others and were actual adults.

This is pitiful and sickening, coming from people who are loaded to the gills with guns, bullets, handcuffs, stun guns and the full authority of law. Is it asking too much for people with this much power to be mature adults, or aren't there any out there anymore?

Maybe the whole concept of 'police' is the problem. Maybe we need a society that doesn't create crimes, rather than people to come mop up afterwards, for all the good that it (doesn't) do.

I think it's far more innocuous than it's being made out. Go hang out with any nurse, doctor, cop, firefighter, ambulance driver etc. and you're going to hear FAR worse. Morbid humor. They weren't saying they could get away with rape, though I realize why people think that's what was said.

That said, this is really true.

I have to work with some ex-police officers and they say all kinds of horrible things. Nurses I've found the opposite with, they tend to be a bit more aware an socially switching on, but cops and detectives say some horrible things all the time. It seems to be an international thing. Probably something to do with the all male environment and seeing the worst in people? I don't know.

Pursuant to 42 USCS § 15609 [Title 42. The Public Health and Welfare; Chapter 147. Prison Rape Elimination], the term "oral sodomy" means contact between the mouth and the penis, the mouth and the vulva, or the mouth and the anus.

Basically yeah but it could be any of the above mentioned acts that resulted in that charge.

Police ARE there to prevent crime, not just to detect it after the fact.

Many instances have the Police pre-empted situations where it looked borderline, where trouble might start and people might get hurt and acted to prevent crime that way. Breaking up a large crowd of mouthy teenagers getting Leary is one example of this..prevention.

What is sending people to prison for, if not to punish the offender in order to prevent them so easily reoffending in the future? It's not all about making money from them making number plates etc, it is to punish them in the hopes they will not do whatever landed them there again..prevention.

Community Police holding seminars on anti-burglary measure we can use in the home, that's in the hope of preventing burglary and associated crime.

Cops are there to both detect and prevent crime.

Ugh. That's all that can be said.

Hey kid I do see things for what they are which is why I don't give them a pass or defend their crap blindly like you. BTW if As far as growing up it looks as though those officers are the ones who need to do the growing. I respectfully disagree. Stockholm Syndrome is where the mind basically finds a mechanism for survival and improved treatment of oneself in response to a captive situation. It's like a warped interpretation of "you get more with sugar than you do vinegar" but where what you get in a captive situation may be some essential--ie food--to life. Police rapes, on the other hand, would be more like rapes by clergy where there is an amount of trust due to the position of the individual and that trust gets annihilated. It's the absolute opposite. I have experience with Stockholm Syndrome.
