There's no respect in the world anymore. I may not like or condone what you do, but I still respect you. When I was in the workforce, we were trained to become "teams". This has been the downfall of America. It certainly has been the downfall of corporations and quite possibly one of the largest reasons that jobs have been shipped out of the country. We were a team before this training, and now someone has tried to redefine the concept into conflict. Speaking of conflict, that was one of the first premises that we were taught to recognize and deal with in the team concept training. After the training, production tanked and teams were advised to fictionalize production records to show that the team was "still in place" or other stupid reasons. Soon the places I have worked were closed and I believe this was a main reason.

But, I digress. I respect you, whomever you may be, as long as you don't disrespect me.

Oh god someone is proud of their melanin content... this how things get started.

First we need to get rid of people's idea of thinking that pigments are an important factors than an individual achievement.

"Hey, im proud of my 52% pigment content!"

"Hey me too!"

"What? i proud of my 54% pigment concentration!"

I never understood people taking pride in something they have no control over. I'm white, I didn't ask to be white, I didn't work hard to be white, and I'm also not ashamed to be white because, again, I had no control over it.

I read the first two lines. And I thought: This is idotic.

We are all humans, and being 99.9% identical in DNA, there is only one race. So to state that you are white, or whatever you want to call your pigment, is in fact simply just materialstic. Thus shallow and degrading to yourself and everyone else.

Do yourself and everyone else a favor and don't identify solely based on appearances. It truly is meaningless.

Also, it is idiotic to be proud of something in which you accomplished nothing. It is PURE random chance you are born with the pigment you have. How on earth can you be proud of random chance?

I believe in reincarnation, and probably I'm a fairly old soul, so I likely have been lots of colors, male and female, various nationalities, various religions.....

on all the teams: yah I think much of it is much ado about nothing to make everything sound like more than it is, but it is a sort of feel-good collectivist thing, everyone working for the common good of the corporation. It can be good but it can also be somewhat fake and pretentious.

It's always good to vent. I'm sick of hearing people say they're "proud" to be an American in one breath, then basically say "screw these people" (Poor Americans) in the next, then the following breath say how we as a country and as a people need to come together.

I'm sick and tired of Democrats and Republicans saying each other suck, when they ALL suck!

I'm sick and tired of hearing it's Obama's fault, or it's Bush's fault when it's all of OUR faults for putting up with this BS for so damn long.

And for the same reason I am sick of hearing about bad cops when we do nothing about them!

I'm sick of people saying poor people are entitled when it's actually the "educated" people who are. I'm tired of hearing that just because someone has a degree they are "entitled" to be overpaid. You CANNOT purchase intelligence.

I'm sick of everyone saying you need to respect a soldier or veteran because they served, Very few people enlist in a patriotic fervor.

On the same note, I am sick of career military bitching about socialism when they are benefiting from it.

Basically I am sick and tired of hearing everybody complain on the internet and DO nothing about anything!

And before anyone calls me out, I include myself in all of this. How someone can feel any sort of pride to be anything is a mystery to me.

That is what I am getting at! The whole pride thing is unreal unless it is something you personally did. I am positive every poster in the forum has something they've done...grand or small that helps them look in the mirror happily

I am white, male, pansexual, Wiccan whatever. Only one of those things, Wicca, is by choice and I'm not ever proud of that

Getting my MA, becoming a therapist...a bit proud there

But even my lineage...which is really cool to study...is not MY personal accomplishments. I come off a line of several kings of Sweden...I am a direct descendant of Roald Amundsen. Great great whatever...he is straight up there...But 'I' m not the one who made it to the South Pole...so yeah it's cool as all get out...and sometimes if people discuss lineage I'll say I ama descendant or Amundsen...but again...HE made it to the pole....not me

Hehe yep. I can't knock black pride or gay pride or whatever though because it's a direct reaction to being told to be ashamed of yourself based on being black, gay, etc. National/tribal/racial etc. pride is always increased when people are oppressed or in poverty. Just look at Germany. They found some serious pride during the great depression

So that's why I love when people say. "If they stopped screaming about xxxxx pride we'd leave them alone". Ludicrous. No one's ever gotten respect for just being nice and quiet without something else to back it up.

White pride is the same. That's why it's always the rural poor or other disenfranchised or lower status whites doing the white supremacy/pride stuff. Just look at Men's Rights groups on the internet. They are unsuccessful white guys by one standard or another. Stereotypically speaking it's generally that they aren't getting laid :p
