I think that contradiction is explained by cosmological inflation - but don't ask me to explain!

Harte you out there somewhere?

Well I know the Project Serpo papers have been widely described as a hoax, but in them it states that the Ebens, an alien race, measured thier age by how long it takes every cell in thier body's to renew itself, in the papers they approximated it to about 3 years of our time if I'm remembering correctly

Yep you are and you'll notice how 'time speeds up' as you age.

I don't need an explanation for cosmic inflation .

Im riding on a. 66000 mph bus called earth on a freeway that is moving my bus at 300 kps
called the Milkyway galaxy. So my clocks are just a tad bit slow.

I think it is because most humans are born with 10 fingers and 10 toes that we choose base 10 for on the fly math.
Choosing 360 day years still won't let you live to 130.

WTH Hans, you explained about the time flying as you get older - reads like you copied one of my old posts about that very thing.

You nailed it about expansion. When space expands, the speed limit of light isn't involved.

I'll let you handle this area in the future.

Hey I use to teach that concept as part of a management course, circa 1995, so I'm claiming priority.

We probably got it from the same original source.

Expansion I know about explaining it to anyone is a different matter as that bit of hard science knowledge is not in skill set.

I believe in expansion. I'm getting bigger as I age. Soon there will be a great deflation. I kept some of my old clothes for the occasion.

Meanwhile, I am surrounded by belief that people lived to great ages in more ancient times.

It is really hard to put it in context.

To summarize it all: time is/has always been measured in relation to the sun and moon.

'People' is the key word here.... the Sun-Moon cycles were long established, chemical reactions & processes took the same time to react in Pre-history as they do right now...

So the external and internal 'constants' either changed radically...OR the term 'People' needs to be questioned...

the only possible answer is that the long-lived entities, i.e. Kings, Patriarchs etc., were not homo-sapiens-sapiens or Modern Humans... but were Aliens or Hybrids or animated physical bodies controlled by Spiritual forces, (benevolent zombies?)

the other theories of a smaller scale solar-system which expanded is just so much sci-fantasy
or that the rulers were 'myths' or 'family-line of succession or dynasties'

Succession Definition
dictionary.search.yahoo.com
n. noun
1.The act or process of following in order or sequence.
2.A group of people or things arranged or following in order; a sequence.
3.The sequence in which one person after another succeeds to a title, throne, or position

As noted humans have in historic times taken to making up fanciful genealogies. It is suspected that the ancients did the same making up illustrious ancestors who lived a long time or who were gods. Even today some people are held to be just that (Emperor of Japan).

These claims can be easily dismissed by comparing the claim of vast ages of kings to the archaeological record which shows when these civs actually arose.

Does time really exist? Are cycles constant? I often wonder myself. S&F Good thread.
