A man ran across a street and bumped into David Cameron. The person who did this states he was just jogging and it was an accident. It does not look accidental to me. What says you?

Here is a Vine of the incident...

I would have to say, with the current state of affairs in the world, this was a severe security breach for Briton. If this man had been armed with a handgun or knife, this story could be much different.

However, the incident has raised questions over the security around Mr Cameron.

Tory MP Mark Pritchard called for an immediate inquiry: "Met Police close protection officers are some of the best in the world, but what if the protester had been carrying a knife?"

"With the terror threat level increased, this cannot be allowed to happen again. The Met Commissioner should call an immediate and swift internal inquiry to discover why this happened and implement the necessary lessons learned as quickly as possible."

Wouldn't need a knife or gun. Imagine if over the next few days Cameron becomes sick, and gets sicker and sicker and then its revealed he has some terrible deadly illness. I can see the bloke who bumped into him (which is such a lie. Watch the footage) had used the bump to prick Cameron with a needle or something.

There is a risk that this will get out of hand. The Prime Minister and other public officials do not have swarms of security around them like the US President. If this incident shows us anything it is that the PM can get knocked and no one really cares, except people who think we need more security!

Looks like he ran right at him.

Maybe he wasn't paying attention and trying to get somewhere fast?

His excuse was that he was running to get to the gym. The video to me just does not look like that. Watch the video and look at his feet as he 'hits' the PM in an attempt to knock him over. He was running straight at him and the garbage can the PM just walked by. The wrist wrapped that was used to bump him. It looks planned and not accidental.

Appears very deliberate to me....the angle the guy ran into him from, if he was jogging, he would have ended up over the curb in the grass and running into whatever that was behind Cameron.

Could have been a breach test or a scare tactic just to show world leaders how easy it is to get close.

The guy reckons he didn't even know it was the PM until the cops explained it to him after an hour in a police van!
He said on the radio earlier that "I was just jogging to the gym with my towel wrapped around my hand(!)and I dodged through a load of guys in suits, who then piled me to the ground and cuffed me.."

The guy sounded thouroughly pissed off at being detained too.

This was my thought. I am not about fear monger but if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...then...well.

Find it odd his FB is down now also.

The best bit is right after it when Osborne just strolls past. There's security grabbing a guy, Cameron diving into a car and Osborne as if nothing is happening.

Hey ATS! My first post in years. I just saw this on the midday news here in New Zealand. Definitely not accidental. He lined Cameron up, set his feet then bumped into him. As this has become worldwide news and police instantly mention how they are going to ramp up security, I believe that the whole thing was set up and the runner was a paid actor. Hegelian dialect, Problem Reaction Solution. Have a great day everyone!

It wasn't an accident. It was a test to see what would happen.

Edit: What I don't get is why didn't his security team nail that guy before he got to the PM? It was obvious he was heading towards him.

Smacks of what happened to Reagan.

I'd say you hit the nail on the head. He bumped into Cameron with his wrapped hand after confirming who he was.

If he didn't stick him with something, then it was a test to see what kind of protection detail he has with him.

Standard client protection protocols means that ANYONE approaching a client is intercepted. Doesn't matter who it is, professional bodyguards intercept anyone that comes up to them or even worse, "jogs" up.

There is no accident here my friend

Yes, agree with everyone; it was deliberate, and not buying the bloke's version of events for a split second.

Probably a few twitching sphincter muscles in Cameron's security team now.

That's just called wishful thinking.....

I've watched the video a few times, hard to say....it may very well have been an accident, the guy had headphones on, he claimed to be on a way to a gym meeting, he might just not have been paying too much attention.

Someone mentioned that they found it odd that the guys Facebook page had been taken down, chances are he has done it himself to stop the swarm of friend request and "well done, lol" messages he suddenly found himself inundated with.

Whatever the case, I wish we had a close up of Cameron's face at the time, it would have been priceless.

His FB is probably down because he's been inundated with stupid people trying to be friends with him and / or trying to hack him! Think it through. I doubt anything sinister is going on.

Once again a story of very little interest being blown out of proportion and making headlines on every channel here in Aus. I have come to realize that when these stories are harped on like this (umbrellagate, salutewithcoffeeinhandgate) there is a message to the initiated ones around the world in there. It may have to do with the way the man ran or what he was holding or what building Cameron was coming out of or what was happening in the stars at the time. I dont care what the message is and I cant properly decode them anyway. I might be something like 'buy shares in titanium producing mining companies'. But this goes beyond it being a slow news day, it was on every news bulletin.
