Kia ora from NZ!

Howdy everyone,

Just thought I would create a thread to introduce myself. My name is Liam and I'm from the land of the long green cloud (New Zealand/Aotearoa).

I've been a regular ATS visitor for the past couple of years so have finally decided to create an account. In my opinion it is far and away the best website for Alternative news, critical thinking and general banter.

Aotearoa is the Maori (New Zealands native people) name for our country. It translates to "Land of The Long White Cloud" which as the story goes, the first Maori settlers followed a long white cloud which led them to the islands of NZ. It is sometimes jokingly referred to as "Land of The Long Green Cloud" because of the large quantities of a certain herd that are incinerated here...if you know what I mean

Thats is totally cool and I totally relate. Like they are supposed to be there.

One day I was lost on a hiking trip and this butterfly led me home. Swear to God it came and sat on me, then flew in the same direction retuning to me and flying off, returning and flying off in the same direction until I was convinced to follow it. It led the way, waiting for me when I fell behind. I came over this rise and there was camp. They didn't know I had gotten lost.

I didn't say a thing.

It is from a show called Father Ted it was funny as hell and you can watch it years later like Benny Hill and it is still new and fresh

Yeah man I love Father Ted! Its currently on every night on one of the Channels here. Its definitely stood the test of time unlike a lot of stuff. Father Jack has to be my favourite. "Drink! Feck! Arse! Girls!"
