I guess I'll make my first real post here. It's my poem Burial.

Burial

I see myself as a dream,
Awoken as a child, unable to speak.
Liquid, keeping me in a privy place,
Simplistic thoughts of love and hate
Is all that my mind can take.

Muscle contractions soon define my actions
I fight to remain faster,
But these dreams vanish into ashes.
A realm of light breaks my fallacy.

I cry out, out of control!
Livid this pain is as it takes its toll.
Tears shed as I enter preschool.
Aged and experienced now, still a damn fool!

Throughout everything I stayed strong,
And yet to no world do I belong.
An old man on his own.
All that I know, I’ve outgrown.
Now aggravation fills my very soul.

Tubes and pumps with added nutrients,
Pills labeled for days, I cannot comprehend.
A fixed income living off eggs and bread.
The fire ends a life filled with regret.

A small capsule of gold launched into orbit,
My ashes I forfeit now that I am old
One day I’ll return, the date I am not told.
A door opens here is my release,
Free falling, resting at peace
Flames ignite, a shooting star
Thousands of wishes
Emanate from lands so far!

Thank you all for your comments. I enjoy writing stories and poetry but haven't done much lately. Perhaps I'll force time in my schedule to try at it again!
