Quick thinking stops a purse thief !

For those who can not view the video it shows some women boarding a bus and a couple of guys hanging back until they board. One guys follows and then grabs one of the women's purse and tries to run with it... The bus driver slams the entry way door closed on the guys right arm trapping him.. The driver then distracts the thief with a few well chosen blows of a shortened base ball bat as he drives to a spot where the cops are waiting..

I find this video gratifying that the thief was caught and the woman retained her purse...

Now, I do wonder what would have happened in what some call the more civilized societies...

If in America and other places the driver would probably be sued for everything and anything plus lose his job... No doubt an illegal weapon charge could be used against him.. Etc Etc

Even though I salute the driver for his quick thinking there will be those who think the thief should have not been stopped .... It is only a purse... call the cops... kinda B.S. That kind of thinking allows people to pull out their phone an video someone getting beat to death or drowning because they do not want to get involved.. Besides videos are cool and the cops will be here in 15 or 20 minutes !

I have been watching different videos from Russia,and it seems to really be different there. You will see people come to the aid of each other quite a bit. I have read that the women wear heels all years long,and if they slip and fall,generally someone will come and help them up.Something about their culture,they have no trouble with helping strangers.

I have only personally known a few Russians. I met the guy incharge of the Russian space shuttle after the Soviet Union collapsed.. His female translator was some kinda hot..

The other Russians I have known are the kind of people who if they are your friends and you showed up with a body in a trunk they would just ask where do you want to bury the body..

Now having said all that the Russians around here are not looked at favorably due to their crude ways and the habit of acting like they are superior to all others.. In other words if you ain't Russian some of them seem to think you are Whale poo.. bottom of the ocean kinda of thing.

People are just people the world over and I am usually inclined to believe they want to help others in trouble... That thought was shaken severely when the Chinese toddler was ran over in a narrow street twice because no one would help...

I guess i now know how to say "Waaah! Stop hitting me" in Russian too. Sweet.

It was one seriously cack-handed attempt at theft though
