DISNEY ANNOUNCES RELEASE DATES FOR COUPLE FUTURE "STAR WARS" MOVIES
A stand-alone "Star Wars" movie (called "Rogue One"), and directed by Gareth Edwards, will be released next year (Dec. 16, 2016).

And the next "Star Wars" reboot (beyond the one released this year), that will be written and directed by Rian Johnson ("Loopers"), is set to be released on May 26, 2017.

Robot SciFi "CHAPPIE" came in second internationally (first in the U.S.), "JUPITER ASCENDING" third.

Action/Thrillers are doing well too. "KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE" came in fourth. With Oscar Snubbed "AMERICAN SNIPER" holding strong in sixth place globally.

NEWS FROM "INDEPENDENCE DAY2"
Set twenty years after the first ID, the sequel starts with a new wave of alien "reinforcements" arriving on Earth, in response to a distress signal sent up the first wave of ET predators.

Other tidbits are that Will Smith will not return, but his son's been cast in ID2. Rumors are that FOX is trying to set up a new universe for this film to build a franchise. (Sounds a lot like TV's "V" and its reboot - neither of which did very well.)

"GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY2" - DETAILS (AND SPOILERS) SO FAR
Release is a few years away: July 28, 2017. (Always tack on another year for CGI, after the filming ends.) Peter Quill will mature into a "real leader" (but let's hope he keeps the goofy edge and music).
