Be wary of these damn red light camera's because politicians and the company who operates them can and will shave time off the 3 second yellow light window. Shaving the time gives unsuspecting motorists tickets. This case happened in Chicago but Chicago's corrupt politicians aren't the first ones to do this, nor will they be the last.

6 Cities That Were Caught Shortening Yellow Light Times For Profit

Florida's red-light camera intersections issuing more tickets after yellow light times quietly reduced

California City Dumps Red Light Camera After Increasing Yellow

Ironically enough, when increasing the yellow time safety increased.

Arizona: Longer Yellow Reduced Accidents

I hate these camera's and now speed camera's are making their way onto our streets. It'll only be a matter of time before these politicians abuse them as well, in some cities they already have.

It is despicable that the people were milked in this way. But it is an equally despicable concept that taxes should be higher for people who make more and lower for people who make less. America is a capitalist nation. Not a socialist one. Capitalism has made our country great. We don't need these socialist policies to destroy our country and weaken our motivation to continue to be great. Greatness should be rewarded with proportional rewards. An ignorant idiot who can't find his/her way out of fast food doesn't deserve to be out of it. That's not how the natural world works. In the real world, the natural one, you get what you put in. The young turks continue to be the voice of idiocy on youtube.

The TYT, when talking about taxing the rich, are talking about the corporations who benefit from corporate welfare and other such wealthy entities.

The knowingness behind a trick like that is just creepy. It's obviously exploitative and sees fellow citizens as marks to screw over. Assholes see everyone else as assholes and forget an unfair ticket can be enough to put a family under.

"So they ran the red light? Tough! They should be more careful (chuckles)."

Just one more example of how the screws are always being tightened on normal working people.

Exactly, and that's the TYT point. This is clearly robbing from the working class tax payers. The best part of the recent Chicago scandal is that the politicians will not be refunding these illegal tickets. Over 7 million made in 6 months!

So in your idiotic world, where the rich, who made their way out of "fast food", they should not have to suffer a financial burden for breaking the law?

That was the entire point. To impose a financial burden on the motorist. If you make $1,000,000 a year, $100 doesn't even give you pause.

If you never made it "out of fast food" $100 will make you starve this week.

Your imagined society doesnt even make sense.

The entire point of fines is to impose financial hardship on the person. The fine should always be relative to your income.

The only way to be equal any other way is to raise the fine so high that the ultra rich are pained, even though the lower classes cant pay $1,000,000 parking tickets.

In a free society, money doesnt buy special treatment with the law.

In our society, I am surprised this is even an issue........lets be honest, there is not a "law of the land", there are those that can afford lawyers and those who cant.

There are those with the money and connections, that guarantee they can do whatever they want when they want. And there are us regular folks. The only ones that "must abide by the laws at all times or else".

Every person I have ever met with any type of actual money spoke exactly like you.

Keep your wealth and follow the law, or pay equal compensation with the common man. The result of breaking the rules is financial hardship, if you make $15,000 or $15,000,000 a year.

Sounds really equal to me honestly.

They specifically referred to tax brackets that all citizens are a part of.

What? Supporting your country's economic philosophy is now considered propaganda? No. Capitalism is just the right and more natural economic system out of all the other mainstream philosophies. Capitalism works more the way the natural world works. Competitively. Socialism works more the way detached wishful thinkers wished that the world works. But, those detached wishful thinkers are too spineless to come to terms with the reality of the world that we live in and live in a fantasy land. They can't accept this world. Unlike me. I'm adapting. Liberals just cry about it and want "change". The only change I want is to go back to a simpler world where humans fit in more with the spirit of nature, rather than this ugly, detached group of people who think that food comes from grocery stores, as they eat a ham sandwich and cry about pigs being in cages. Capitalism is consistent with Darwin.

All the more reason to get out of fast food. If you can't make ends meet, even to afford a simple fine. You've chosen the wrong career path and need to make some changes to your life. I speak like I do because I've gotten myself out of poverty and I know its possible. If I didn't think it was possible for everyone, I wouldn't blame people for their own poverty. But, unless you are mentally or physically disabled, you have an equal chance. I believe in welfare for the disabled. But, not for the poor.

And tickets are about more than just money. I recently got several speeding tickets within a short time frame. Although the tickets were easy enough to pay off, the major problem I faced was the points on my license that would have resulted in my license being suspended had I not taken a defensive driving course and also would have made me lose my job which would have been a real financial set back for me. So, poverty, even for the the well off, continues to be a motivating factor to do what you are supposed to do. If losing my job didn't mean anything to me, I'd still be speeding and putting everyone's life in danger. But, alas, I finally slowed down, because my government doesn't give absolute welfare to everyone just because they exist. Poverty is good for the survival of our species.

Cent gave an example of a progressive tax for the rich that doesn't exist to make up for lost revenue instead of issuing illegal tickets. What a bastard. It's funny what really bothered you about this video is taxing the rich but not stealing from the working class. Sure you briefly talk of your disgust in your opening but then write a full blown paragraph defending the rich.

You've ignored the entire point of the report.

Why are you focusing on fast food workers? Makes 0 sense. Do you believe the majority of the ticket holders in Chicago work in fast food?

Can't afford a simple fine? This is what you take out of all of this? The fines are illegal and the politicians and red light camera company are keeping the 8 million they stole, in just 6 months, from the people of Chicago!

The derailment is real.

Wow. Social Darwinism and capitalism as #1. You really took that propaganda to heart. The original Social Darwinists were almost all rich bigots, corrupt businessmen, eugenicists, and even some Nazi supporters later on. Do some research into the origins of this term.

Capitalism is failing fast. Every ism failed. Our turn is arriving for complete failure. No ism has ever worked. They are all control systems imposed by the elite. If capitalism doesn't fail it's because they impose Orwell's nightmare worldwide. Wake up sir. You and your children will suffer the costs of your ignorance.

I agree the rich are raping this country and giving nothing back. They are parasites, doing nothing but sucking the life out of Americans so they can stack even more money they cant use and have no actually useful to mankind itself use.

Even thought they champion things like carbon taxes to make the poor pay more for them, so they can keep flying on their jets, that make more carbon per hour than most poor folks a year.

The rich are and always have been the problem. Once we regular folks kill them and all their buddies off, the world will be a much better place.

They are the ones that make wars(not for us but for financial gains), They cause poverty, not to feed us, to make money.

Money is the only measure they use or recognize, they are the epitome of sin, they are the worst our race has to offer.

I am not religious, but do believe in sin and greed and lust etc... They are and will be mans end.

Yet American seems to to favor it now, in all aspects of life.

If this is the case we will fall and take the way of Rome and Greece before us..............Is man truly destined to be ruled by elite tyrant idiots forever??????????!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the rich being the problem but killing them is ridiculous. We need to end the cycle of history. Every time the common man rises up and kills the elite they elevate their leaders to become the new elite.

If you want a great example just study the French revolution, which inspired ours, and then turned into a whole new nightmare.

The king was ousted. The people installed their leader who became a sort of proto Stalin. Then he got ousted and France got Napoleon.

It's time to start seeing past our petty hatreds. We need to force the rich to use their power and money to start building a sustainable equal utopia. How we do that is a mystery, but a violent revolution will just be continuing the cycle. History has shown this time and time again. Let's learn from the past and try to escape the confines of our own conditioned attitudes and philosophies.

Everything as it exists now is completely fictional. The system only exists because we all agree to it in one way or another. It's time to create a better fiction than the ones handed to us by our ancestors.
