I wasn't here for an hour of the coverage, but I know Fauci mentioned work on a new vaccine in his opening comments. Was there any mention of that after?

I agree, due to the fact hat a travel ban will hurt the air line industry badly, this will affect jobs and services.

In America everything is political, political and full of crap.

We can not have some ebola killer virus stop the way of life of those that depends on the air business now.

Well...
I liked the line of questioning at the end but was, as expected, completely disgusted by the evasions and laughable responses by the head of the CDC.
Thanks to everyone who chimed in. I would be losing my mind if I didn't have ATS to discuss this with.

yeah but it was an interesting one.. The CDC director got called out on his BS..

His time as the head of the CDC is done.. I think the Dems and Reps will blame him..

I am ok with it..

As the good representative from Virginia put it.. I am not a doctor that dels with your type of medicine, but I know when someone is lying to me..

Good ole psychology....

I was surprised by the fact that the questioning itself seemed
spot on for the most part. As for ATS you are not alone OP.

Next to be scurred? Anderson Pooper Scooper, an ATS favorite!

What did you folks think of the whole "no need to scrub the plane down" statement?

They still aren't taking maximum protections seriously.
Good news is the airline service people are!!

Or, the first two children that happen to be siblings and traveled in the same airplane as the Nurse comes down sick.

Lets pray that the children test negative during their quarantine.

And yes I expect the CDC bubble heat to resign very, very soon too

The Obama Administration is throwing him under the bus. If the executive branch was taking this seriously the surgeon general would be up there answering, also they would have issued a press release from the head of the state dept on why travel restrictions aren't being implemented.

No one from the Dept of defense was up there to answer anything regarding our troop involvement.

SO....this indicates the executive branch is dodging, trying not to escalate any response's they may have to make and answer for at a later date. Obama may be a lame duck with only 2 years to go, but he's smart enough to know that's still time enough for bucket loads of grief.

Friedan will be fine...he'll take the flack then resign only to be offered his choice of cushy corporate positions for "taking one for the team".

What I am fearing the most. The first child on U.S. soil that comes down with ebola, will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Lord, I hope it never happens. But, we all know schools are one big petri dish.

Then we will see true panic The halls of Capitol Hill will be filled with the roar of Mama Bears demanding safety for their children.

It's going to be crazy if any child gets sick, this means people will be getting their children out of schools and keeping them at home, work force will be down, if the government starts to push too much people will riot, protest and then we may have a full blown martial law.

I can not even imagine all the repercussions.
