There's another idea that I have been pondering for a while that for some reason feels quite connected to this story. And that is the similarity between psychedelic drugs and written language. The former are molecules that enter your perception through the gateway of chosen mode of administration, the latter are beams of light which reflect on ink on paper and then enter your perception through the gateway of your eyes. Other than that the similarities are many. I have earlier described how I see a similarity between 9/11 and what avant-garde art can do. This is probably the reason I think about this in this context. An iPad to a hunter gatherer is not that different from 9/11, avant-garde art or psychedelic drugs. Satan was Lucifer, the light bearer, wasn't he? Fine line between madness and genius they say.

A gramophone record, the musical idea, the written notes, and the sound-waves, all stand to one another in the same internal relation of depicting that holds between language and the world.
He said that one of the indigenous people died of a shock as a result.
In order to make simple the great truths of Nature and the abstract principles of natural law, the vital forces of the universe were personified, becoming the gods and goddesses of the ancient mythologies. While the ignorant multitudes brought their offerings to the altars of Priapus and Pan (deities representing the procreative energies), the wise recognized in these marble statues only symbolic concretions of great abstract truths.
I don't know anything. I'm just a seeker. I don't remember exactly what I said that you read. But I think that perhaps different ideologies apply to different people, and different parts of humanity. Maybe some people are meant to be doers and some are meant to walk through life as if in a glass bubble. Maybe it's an evolutionary thing, maybe some stand on the shoulders of others. I don't know. It is interesting to look at how extrovert vs introvert different parts of humanity are and compare it to the level of evolution they might be at or appear to be at. And something like emotional intelligence and autism.

Still thinking people shouldn't try to change the World?

Hi introspectionist , I read a thread a year ago I guess by you saying content not changing the world and living your normal life. I tried to help and encourage you if you seemed to be depressed. I am saying I was part of top secret revelations party or something. I used to be involved with the government and that's how I found this site. Music is open to interpretation and could mean many things. I write about it in my own threads.
Still thinking people shouldn't try to change the World?

In this life, there are three kinds of men, just as there are three sorts of people who come to the Olympic Games. The lowest class is made up of those who come to buy and sell, the next above them are those who compete. Best of all, however, are those who come simply to look on. The greatest purification of all is, therefore, disinterested science, and it is the man who devotes himself to that, the true philosopher, who has most effectually released himself from the 'wheel of birth.'
