Catholic Church Shifts on Gay People They Have 'Gifts and Qualities to Offer'

Sounds like we're on a similar page. I've never subscribed to one group. I have two couples in my group of core friends. One couple is cookie cutter Democrat the other is cookie cutter Republican. They've both been completely retarded at various times on various topics. As an independent I know I've done the same. I'm very prone to it since I like to play devils advocate and root for the underdog I perceive. In a room of Christian Republicans I get attacked for being a liberal hippie. In a room of atheist Democrats I'm a bigoted Republican.

How does one fight for tolerance and equality when tolerance generally means not fighting? It's a riddle I have yet to solve
