Pick up a German history book then.....Wiki is more reliable that some lady who talks out her backside to make it seem as though we are heading down the same path. The distortion of this topic drives me crazy. People blame or claim hitler did all kinds of sh** he didn't do.

I know quite a few people who live here but couldn't tell you how the Electoral College works. Just because she lived there doesn't mean she's a walking library of accurate information about the events of those days.

Case in point, if I were to tell my great grandchildren 50 years from now that a man named Obama "swooped in and united our country" because I live and work in a place that puts the man on a pedestal, does that make it accurate? He may have united one side against the other (and squeezed a slightly larger chunk of the popular vote 2 times), but that doesn't mean it's true. The other half of the country will tell their kin of the Muslim who crusaded against the constitution.

She may have been there, but the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich lays out a pretty good case for her side not being 100% accurate.

Outside of your "Not Elected" argument, everything she says is pretty much the same as what you are saying.

I have a better idea than Hitler hyperbole. Research what fascism actually is (the actual definition) then tell me that America is not on the doorstep of true fascism. We have all the hallmarks of it at the moment. All we lack is the full on totalitarian regime.

No her gun control argument is BS as well. The 'socialist' healthcare system was started under the Weimar Republic in 1922 it was called The Imperial Youth Welfare Act. So.....everything she says in BS again. About the only thing she gets right is that a large portion of people were hoodwinked as to the direction he would lead them.

One can only lead a horse to water, one can not make it drink.

She discusses more than just gun control. How is her gun control argument BS? She says Austrians had guns and they were required to register their guns under Hitler rule. Then eventually the Jews were denied their rights and required to turn in their guns or face capital punishment. The point she is making about all of this is how all of these events gradually happened and that the U.S. is heading towards socialism.

On March 12, 1938, German troops marched into Austria. Hitler announced his Anschluss, and a plebiscite was finally held on April 10. Whether the plebiscite was rigged or the resulting vote simply a testament to Austrian terror at Hitler's determination, the Fuhrer garnered a whopping 99.7 percent approval for the union of Germany and Austria.

Sure it happens gradually and if that is all she is trying to say....then she is only 80yrs or so late. We have been heading down this road for a long long time.

I don't see anything showing a twisting of facts here. All I see is a offended liberal rant.

The reason why you don't see a twisting of facts is because you know next to nothing when it comes to history. Let me point out where she twists facts.
She says that Hitler was against religion this is a flat out lie. The Nazis worked within the religious structure and there was no widespread attempt to remove religion from public life. Hitler was a big supporter of the church and donated millions of dollars to it.
She tries to make the ACA is something like Hitler's healthcare. "Before Hitler, we had very good medical care. . .After Hitler, health care was socialized, free for everyone" The ACA isn't free you are required to buy insurance. She has no understanding the difference between fascism and communism. Communists argue for complete control of private business and industry, fascism works through and in alliance with corporations and private sectors to promote their authoritarian regime.
Also she talks about people not being able to speak out about the government if this is true then how is she still walking around free? This old lady is spouting this BS because she has found a group of people ignorant enough to buy it namely the Tea Partiers.

I agree...

When seconds count the police can be there in minutes!

But if you own a gun you can actually protect yourself and your family.

No one said you had to comply. What a ridiculous thing to say. If you want a gun, buy one. If you don't , then don't. You are lucky to have never been in a situation where you needed to defend yourself. Not everyone is that lucky. And if you want to talk about typical arguments, you could be the poster child.

No one is trying to scare you into buying a gun. No one.

If you think your intelligence will save you when someone has a gun pointed at your head all I can say is you wont look very intelligent standing their pissing on yourself. I come from a family of green beret, special forces, and karate instructors. Every one of them owns several guns. Not because they are afraid, but because they are intelligent enough to know you don't bring a dictionary to a gun fight.

I never said forced entry is inevitable, but it happens. I live in a very nice neighborhood. You would never look around and think, "This is the kind of place armed robberies happen." It would never enter your mind. And you would be wrong.

I live in an area where people are fairly well off. Not the 1% by a long shot, but doing well. The bills are paid and there is food on the table.

What we have happening in our area is gang bangers coming from ghetto towns in Indiana, about a 45 minute drive, breaking into homes and stores, robbing people in the street, then hopping back on the expressway and they are out of state in no time. Even in gated communities it happens. If you think you are immune to it or live in a place where you are safe, you are kidding yourself.

I am a pretty big guy. I have been in the military. I have two older brothers, a green beret and a karate instructor. Believe me, I learned how to defend myself. I am not afraid of much of anything. I have been mugged once and had my home broken into twice. I have been shot at twice outside the military. Once the bullet went by my head so close my hair moved. And at the time I lived in a town with a church on practically every corner, that did not sell package liquor, and had some of the toughest gun laws in the country. It happens.

She reminds me of Ayn Rand.

Who's view of the world was distorted by her early life and people she chose to be associated with.

With all due respect the United States is a toilet and it's people are too easily manipulated to require a dictatorship.

Both sides of your democracy are controlled by the same interests but you're too dumb to see it.

Not all of us are too dumb to see what a puppet government we have; but those of us who do are way too few to do much about it.
