Tiny little thread about me

I know this isn't exciting news for anybody but me, but it is really exciting news from my end of things! I will be starting a new job tomorrow with some people that seem like genuinely good people. Believe me, I can spot those A-holes comin' and goin' from a mile away. The pay is a bit better than what I expected too!

I have been unemployed for just over 2 years now and it's mostly been physical health limitations that have kept me out of the rat race.

I had applied for all kinds of assistance and aid; none forthcoming whatsoever. In fact, I just about burned through the last of my savings and resources and was facing homelessness as a final outcome. I have spent the last year struggling to overcome some of my physical challenges, while exploring a number of more appropriate career choices better suited to my abilities and disabilities. Boy, what a challenge it was! Strangely, I somehow never expected it to pay off.

Anyway, sorry to ambush you with a self-serving, ego-stroking thread here, but I could use all the well-wishing and good luck I can get right now.

Congratulations i am going through something similar with my health and finances and know how draining it can be mentally and financially on you .

When i worked i payed £ 1500 per month in taxes only to be denied any benefits in the last 3 years no matter what i try ,

Good news from a fellow ATSer is always welcome. Good on ya! I've been a contractor for a major evil US corporation for many years, perpetually on the verge of a layoff, and have always had a fear of becoming homeless, so I can really relate to the anxiety you must have been living under. Take a big deep breath and pat yourself on the back.
