Hello, I can finally post now!

Which means I can finally check this next task off my list of to do's. Just in case.

The question posed to me by my Fiance, was what should we do about birth control if we had to take our bug out bags and go.

My response. I have no ideas, we could take some condoms with in reason, they do have the potential to be viable for some things aside from sex. Any help or ideas here will be greatly appreciated.

Also, what things may she want in there, that she wouldn't mention to me?

So far, In each bag I have.

100 foot of Paracord.
Assorted Gauze and Medical Tape
Zippo with extra flints, wicks and fluid.
Flint and tinder w/ magnesium
One knife fork and spoon. (everyone needs to eat)!
Electrical tape.
A pack of Gum
Sunflower seeds (the 99 cent bags)
Aspirin/Aleve/ Individual packets of Bayer I had laying around.
Hunting Knife / Multi tool survival hatchet pry bar and hammer All in one.
Sling shot.
Assortments of Ammo for our weapons.
Wool Blanket.
Small Scissors in one bag/ Small knife in the other
Pen/Markers and small pad of paper
Canteen
Water purification tablets and a life straw.
Several Emergency Mylar Blankets

At the moment thats mostly it I'm sure i forgot a thing or two but its a work in progress!

In the future will add appropriate clothing for weather and a few other items with your help!

Thank you,

High on the tower

Don't forget Tampons. Or she may prefer pads. but i think tampons would be easier to carry around.

What about a white suit and breathing mask with gloves and booties. Merry Christmas.

That's an excellent point, eventually we may have to find a safe alternative to such things as we would run out.

She's currently on a shot form of birth control so she doesn't get her period however I don't think we could just find that sort of stuff laying around, nor would I have the expertise to inject her properly with it.

I guess with the circumstances being the way they are at the moment, more than a couple bandannas may help.

Thank you

Female hygiene products( not just tampons..ask her)

I'll check my lady drawer later and see if there's anything else important

Thank you,

Yes small Mirrors great for signaling as well as beautifying! A brush I'm sure we can make space for that.

She's not interested in prepping but she says that the sentiment is appreciated for the just in case factor.

A few elastic hair ties. They could also come in handy for several other purposes. Aside from feminine hygiene products, it's really the only thing geared toward a woman. Possibly a good sports bra if you are including any kind of clothing.

Fantastic thought, I had seen something like that on the book of faces.

I will bring that idea up to her, and hopefully not get popped in the face!

Great thought's, Maybe I should even throw in some rubber bands as well!

I already have zip ties packed in one bag, I work on cell phone towers and I know that two things I could not live without are zipties and electrical tape.

Have a few Bobby pins

Brush handles can come hollow and used as a storage for small things

And np, we gotta look out for everyone in the times ahead.

And a little comfort will go a long way in those times

A good pair of slanted tweezers (multiple uses)
Large emery boards - brown, not the fancy colored ones...they can double as sandpaper
Hydrogen peroxide now comes in a spray bottle...so does triple antibiotic
Packets of hand and foot warmers -- the ones you crack to activate
Contractor pencils that you can sharpen with a knife -- pens/markers run out of ink

Speaking of Bobby Pins and thank you I plan to, I just learned today to lock pick hand cuffs, for protection of course.

I have linked above how to break out of the more common threat we could face if SHTF. Zipties!

They also have somewhere in there how to Pick out of handcuffs, quite simple, I haven't tried behind the back yet but soon I will!

Thank you Halfpint,

I had missed those and its almost winter, hand and foot warmers do wonders in my line of work.

Contractor pencils hadn't thought about pens and markers running out of ink, its always good to have extra sets of eyes on a project!

Peroxide should be easy enough.

As far as emery board, I was thinking about getting a small pack of metal files, do you think one would be better than the other?

You're right that condoms are cool - they can be used to carry water in a pinch! I think in some sort of disaster they would be wasted on sex when you could just pull out.

Tampons have the added benefit of clogging bullet holes. One friend carried them in Afghanistan.

That's quite funny to picture, I wonder however if society gets shat on, and you sustained a bullet wound that would hopefully be a through and through, how would the chance of survival be?

Tampon's it is, even if she prefers pads we can make room for both!

I second that about tampons, and pads make some of the best bandage's you can find.
