I don't get the halloweeniness in that? Did I miss something? It's cool though...

I decided to go with halloween ET for my avi unless my new one comes out exceptionally well... but I'm attempting to do stuff in photoshop I have never done before...

I am unsure how halloween got scarey... its supposed to be dancing around the Samhain fires and the night the dead (from the otherworld) walk the earth right? Some spirits are good and some spirits can possibly be malign, and they wore amulets to ward off the malign spirits and danced around the fires...or so I thought...although it is also my understanding the dancing and the fires had nothing to do with the spirits. Only the amulets...

Or did I miss something in my history books?

Hoping its okay to ask for your help in photoshop with a couple things...

LOL...well, im not quite that thin.

But i couldn't really fatten him up with him standing at that angle, with his arms across his body.

My post-halloween avy will have one that is a little fatter than I actually am.

Hello everyone!
I think it should be posted: Look what 'operation mindcrime' did to my face!
Improvement, huh!

His expertise photoshopped the image and I ruffed up the edges of skin a tad.
I forgot how much I miss playing with photoshop, would love to learn more advanced techniques now.
Soon I'll be posting pictures in the UFO forum's! (only kidding)

Can't wait to see more images, ttys

If you are interested in participating in our sites artist community, a good start is the Avatar Creations forum.

Everything I know in photoshop I learned while practicing on requests from the membership.

This is not yet an entry because although the dimension is correct file size is not... I'm going to work on fixing that and will try and get this changed to an entry a bit later... sorry...

if your using photoshop:

- click "image size"

I just open a new canvas at 200x455, in the completed image i flatten it, then drag it into the new canvas CTRL-T wil show the transform controls when you have the Move Tool selected, and you can just resize the image there by dragging the corners down to the size you want.

Holy Moley! That's complex!

I'm low-tech, and use Irfanview for all my lightweight stuff. For something like that I'd just go to image-> resize, then uncheck the "maintain aspect ratio" box to allow it to squish the sides in, type in the final dimensions I want, and there it is! No "canvases" or "flattening" or file-dragging or corner-dragging involved!

No wonder I never got the hang of Photoshop - I don't care to make twenty moves when two will suffice! PS ain't for the lazy or the fainthearted!

It's the night when the doors between dimensions are throw open, the veils whisked aside, and anyone - or anything - that wants to can come through to bother folk, or just talk their ears off, depending upon proclivity.

As I recall (which may not be right) the fires started out as hilltop beacon fires near where the portals were assumed to be.
