By the time the mainstream media covers it, it'll be skewed in some way.

As much as I hate the power hungry police, I need to ask if people there actually had jobs would they be doing what they are doing? It seems there are a lot of people with a lot of free time on their hands....

The first cop shot was about a a break in and not protest related

The second cop shot was on I-70 miles away from any protest, neither seem related.

Local news are not updating anything, all we know is from live feeds and twitter and twitter seems unreliable.

So the first one was probably just typical work related stuff. But that second one sounds interesting. If he was off duty and not in uniform then it becomes either Personal or at least intentionally planned for as they would have to know who he was for him to be a target. Just shooting some cop because you're pissed at the cops in general is one thing, but targeting someone who is a cop specifically is a bit different. That takes planning to some degree.

Maybe most are unemployed and the ones we see are the ones who are sick of being jobless?

My guess as who would have not only the motive, but the skill to pull of something like you mention would be a "Private Security" Team.

You just need some properly trained former service guys and the right "cause".

I'm sure we weren't the only bunch who used to sit around in the middle of nowhere with no fire and discuss how easy it would be to do stuff like this.

Or, you could be from another government. We screw mercilessly with Venezuela, for instance. If I wanted to cause major civil unrest in the US for a bit o' payback, this is your golden ticket.

You know what they say, "Idle hands are the devils playground."

All this crazyness in Ferguson is to get the people all riled up so that the government can crack down harder. They already declared Martial Law once and had the National Guard on hand, it'll just keep happening. It is also being used to distract everyone from other major events that are happening, even possibly bills that take away more freedoms and bring the U.S closer to a complete militarized state.

This video has probably already been shared but I still want to post this because John Oliver is awesome.

That's what I was thinking too.

Similar situations are already at work too here in Cali. up north they've been using a Private Security Team to raid the MJ crops that are being grown. Complete with Helicopters, Para Military with Rifles dropping from the sky and taking the plants without any formal notice or documentation of what's taken, or even identifying who they are or who they work for.

Could be a cash cow here too for a motivated team of Private Mercs. Cause a little chaos. Make the Police look bad while making the populous look dangerous. Then step in and say, "Hey, looks like you need some guys to keep this town under control, but without all the Media Attention and Red Tape of having to use National Guard or Local Police. Well, I just happen to know a company that could help with that."

Ching Ching comes the money train. All paid for by the Tax Payer through the bottomless pockets of the Gov.

Dammit. I just listed out about a dozen ways this could be capitalized on and the system ate it. Alas.

Watch close. If someone uses it, that'll be instructive. If they DON'T, that's interesting too. And a good sign.

Thanks for clarifying this, as I was reading thru the thread, probably a little bit faster then I should have, I got the wrong impression.

I think things have died down, but its clearly not over by a long shot. Protesting injustice is tiring and following live feeds and twitter is as well.

Is it the underwear or the bunny slippers that ensure the quick get away?

Good to hear things are dying down, don't have a chance to follow the events like I did in the last couple mega threads that were ferguson, so I am glad your still going strong staying on the ball keeping us updated.

I'm just saying I do not have time to do what they are doing, I also do not have time to hang on the streets, so I'm either home or at work. Between working and focusing on my family you would not find me in the situation where I'm running into stupid cops.

The slippers obviously.

The underwear is because during speedy getaways there isn't always time for a proper pit stop and it would be a shame to ruin your slippers!!! o_0

It sucks, there are a thousand other topics I would rather discus, if only America would have been more aware when there laws and policies and training was changing with our glorious war on terror and war on drugs to see this coming years ago. I never dreamed it would take on a race angle but when your prisons are filled with minorities, when your police target minorities for traffic stops and for just walking down the street this kind of anger will explode, its only a matter of time.

And how are you certain that these people are not just making time and sacrificing in other areas?
Maybe some quit or took leave from their current job to stand up to something that affected them directly.
You say you don't have time to be doing what they are doing, but who knows if this was happening to you in your home town/community that you would be singing the same tune.
