What's ironic to me is that the people who are so quick to condemn a whole group are the same folks who say we shouldn't judge all gun owners by the few crazies who go out and shoot up a school/movie theater.

Exactly Kayla but we can't use logic to debate with these people because they're bigots...

Their hearts and minds have been made up for them by CNN & Fox!

We have been having this threat for years and there are much bigger threats, so why worry about this while I`m not even worried about other stuff.

I have been told to be scared about hundreds of different things and haven`t done it, and you know what, I`m still alive.

Considering some of the vile hate that gets posted here on ATS by folk who simply cannot seperate the actions of extremists from the general population things are already at that stage.

for noticing that

I deeply resent your comments. I am not a bigot. I am however observant. 17 terrorists hijacked planes on 9/11 and used them as weapons to kill innocent Americans. They were all young muslim men. That's not being a bigot, that's being observant. Every time there is a terrorist attack we are preached to about how we should not judge all muslims by the actions of a few. Yet you, the real bigots, judge all gun owners by the actions of a few.

Fine. You don't want me to judge all muslims by the actions of terrorists, I wont. As soon as I can tell which ones are terrorists and which ones aren't. Until then I look at every single one with a skeptical eye. You see, I cannot afford the luxury of living in your world where you don't have to suspect a lunatic religious fanatic murderer until after he commits an atrocity against humanity. In my world you have to be suspicious before the crime happens and hope you can avert the disaster.

Where did I call you, personally, a bigot?

If the shoe fits...

17 terrorists hijacked planes on 9/11 and used them as weapons to kill innocent Americans.

That's debatable, in fact so much so that I steer clear of 9/11 subjects...
It's a dead horse... I won't join in beating it...

Yet you, the real bigots, judge all gun owners by the actions of a few.

When did I judge Gun owners?
You're confusing me with someone else pal...

In my world you have to be suspicious before the crime happens and hope you can avert the disaster.

& in the real world people are innocent until proven guilty!

Then you should be suspicious of all males in general, because they perpetrate the most heinous crimes against others:

I wouldn't get on a plane with any of the bastards. Know any airlines that only service women?

In your response to kayla commenting: "What's ironic to me is that the people who are so quick to condemn a whole group are the same folks who say we shouldn't judge all gun owners by the few crazies who go out and shoot up a school/movie theater."

You responded: "Exactly Kayla but we can't use logic to debate with these people because they're bigots...
Their hearts and minds have been made up for them by CNN & Fox!"

You make broad statements you know apply to a large number of people and when someone objects to your blanket statements you fall back on "Where did I name you personally?" That's lame at best.

Debatable? How can you say that?

Yet you, the real bigots, judge all gun owners by the actions of a few.

"When did I judge Gun owners?

See above response to kayla. You seem to have some short term memory issues. When its convenient...

In my world you have to be suspicious before the crime happens and hope you can avert the disaster.

"& in the real world people are innocent until proven guilty!"

Innocent until proven guilty does not imply standing by ignoring potential threats and pretending there are no dangerous people who want to kill anyone who does not share their religious belief. They are innocent until proven guilty. That is why they are not in jail. That doesn't mean they aren't suspect. It only means they haven t been caught committing a crime against humanity.

Well, I would hope you wouldn't be attacked or vilified by anyone.

Do christians or non-muslims do well in Saudi Arabia?

I don't doubt that muslim people do not want to be vilified or hated simply because of their religion. At least they wont be beheaded like Christian children caught up in a religious war they had nothing to do with.

ATTENTION!!!

Amazingly this thread has gotten to page six without too much hate, vitriol or disruption - please stay on topic and refrain from personal insults and insulting generalizations/stereotyping.

Sorry but unless they talked to 100% of the people who identify themselves as devout muslims and 44% of them told this study that they are radical then I'm calling bs.
Care to post the study to see what numbers they used?

There's a thread on ATS already. I have a full day today, please search for it. I assure you it exists. It's from multiple socialogy professors from a distinguished German University. A 5 year series of surveys and interviews of Muslims throughout Europe.

You can try and deny, but the results of their surveys DO indicate that the numbers if Muslims who meet the classification of radical/funded mentalist approaches 44% in some countries and very large minorities in all the others. Look for the survey, it exists and was a detailed study over 5 years. The numbers and methodologies are statistically sound. I know you want to believe otherwise, but a substantial portion of Muslims in Europe meet the Radical/Fundamentalist classification.

But......but......if the Muslims are gone who will be there for us when we need to get overcharged for oil? ....... Luckily I won't have to live in a cheap oil hell...... I will finally have enough money leftover to buy that assisted suicide machine I've had my eye on.

Some crazy ex-con with a long history of serious problems goes nuts and this is somehow Islam's fault?

I think not. Sorry. THAT was a societal problem already and now you found a scapegoat. It was a copycat crime by an emotionally disturbed person.

Christians have done their fair share of heinous acts during religious wars.

The first Crusade captured Jerusalem after bitter fighting, and the residents of the city were brutalised and slaughtered by the Christian invaders. The invaders' conduct breached the principles of modern just war ethics, and the massacres still colour Islamic politics today.

The Crusades? Really?

If you have to go that far back to compare the two religions, just admit the Muslims are stuck in the middle ages.
