Thing is The simpsons are very much for the older people and not for kids. Simpsons have crude humor like Family Guy. Child abuse, alcohol use, violence, and such is not for kids. Homer physically abuses Bart when he gets annoyed with him. This is not for kids eyes. I do agree with you that Family Guy is much more crude then Simpsons.

Also, the simpson movie drew Bart penis too.

The Aunts Patty and Selma often include sexualy explicit talk and themes also.

After coming out as a lesbian,[24] Patty exclaims "you could see it from space!". There had been many previous hints of her sexuality; she was seen visiting a burlesque house,[

We are living in an age of emotional and political correctness......

people keep saying this but years back people were always more inclined to all kinds of correctness than they are now.

Maybe due to morality and religion, this is true, but in todays age, it seems, if you want to make an honest comparison, "political correctness" has become the new religion of right versus wrong?

Religion has lost it's moral authority, and it has been replaced with political correctness. I didn't like being told what I should and shouldn't do or say by those of any certain religious faith, and I certainly don't like being told what I should or should not say by the politically correct crowd that seems to have taken the place of the religious right.

I find it odd though, that those who have an intolerance to those of faith, don't have any issue pushing their version of morality on the rest of us........

At least that is how I see it.

Wow, people today would never be able to handle Fritz The Cat from 45 years ago. But people were freer back then.

We have devolved as a society.

Not comparable...

Based on the comic strip of the same name by Robert Crumb, the film was the first animated feature film to receive an X rating in the United States.

But in this day and age you could show white static on the tv and it would offend someone. I say go for it...offend everyone you can !

There was a time when all people considered decent...those who were considered respectable and reasonable adults, would not want to steal the innocence of childhood away from our young just for the sake of adults enjoying entertainment, and thus we had protective laws about what was shown and when.

All anyone cares about now is themselves and their right to have fun and enjoy uncensored everything.

Lol, if people want to complain about offensive cartoon content, I offer up South Park as the reigning King of Offensive. But we already know that, they aim for it.

Honestly, I haven't seen so much hoopla over Family Guy since the Prom Night Dumpster Baby song. Or the I Need a Jew one. And this is a Simpsons crossover, lol.

There was never a time when all people were considered decent....people back then just kept things in the dark. If you don't want your kids watching it then tell them they can't watch it! I don't even watch t.v. because it is such trash with the exception of some good movies and maybe 2 tv series that I have encountered.

Imagine a world where nothing offends anyone? How cool would that be. Or we can just keep suppressing reality as much as possible and tell everyone they are a special snowflake....well snowflakes melt.

First off I didn't say there was a time when all people were decent....yes they kept their smut in the dark where it belongs!

So since it is much harder to have control over every moment in a childs day, why not help parents by having special channels for trash that a Family has to sign up for! Today even watching commercials that come on in the middle of a kids show can leave them affected.

Only a fool believes that every part of reality is something every child and adult need be exposed to.

Imagine a world where nothing offends anyone? How cool would that be.

Yes what kind of world....................

Well from my experience personally people who never face conflict or see something wrong or bad have difficulties when they are an adult and they finally encounter something like that.

My mom never let me watch anything bad on tv...I couldn't eat cereal with sugar, and I wan't allowed to ride my bike anywhere off the street I lived on which made for limited riding. I was sheltered.

Luckily my dad on the other hand was more open....he'd let me watch a movie that had violence in it or maybe something not appropriate. Almost every time I would ask about it because it made me feel awkward. I didn't know how I was supposed to react to things unpleasant. My dad would just explain it to me....either telling me it was a movie or that some people in life are like this.

This is why so many college kids are complete morons because they are sheltered their whole life then go away for the first time and get screwed over by someone....they have no street smarts what so ever.

All I am saying is....nothing is that bad on this planet if you can explain it in a rational way...even to kids. Kids are more resilient and intelligent than we could ever imagine. In chess there are 12 year olds that are in the top 1000 players in the world.

And as for adults...if you don't like what you see...don't buy the product. I don't think I have come across something that has offended me in the last decade.

What he said was not really the punchline. The humor is to be found in is doing the prank call incorrectly. I think people should lighten up and stop getting offended over every little thing. Anything and everything can be made fun of, even if it is the complete opposite of funny. The thing with a sense of humor is that, just like political dogma, it has a broad spectrum...and some people are more right than others, whether they realize it or not.

Instead of running around and complaining about every little thing that offends them, people should exercise their right to not involve themselves with that thing that offends them, instead of attempting to step on what others are doing.

The Family Guy has done worse, and The Simpsons hasn't been good since like season 7 or 8, but that kind've joke was never the Simpsons type of humor.

Simpsons humor is much softer or at least when it was decent. If you watch earlier episodes the most controversial things were Homer choking bart (90's less pc) and the occasional non p.c. joke, but it was intentionally over the top (French nuking America and laughing creating their necks to swell like bull frogs - french - frogs, etc.).
