And when the police comes, you'll have alot of explaining to do. Like, How come the guy you shot had a dozen of bullets in his body and is bleeding like hell, and why you're standing there with the gun.

I'm all for self-defence, but self-defence must look like self-defence - and not like planned murder.

I think your math is off--it would be more like a few HUNDRED bullet holes.

It would be like, "LUCY!...You got a lot o' slpainin' to do..."

That gun is not designed for the single intruder, lol.

I can just imagine the thoughts going thru an opposing gunman's head
while he's pinned down and you are spraying bullets at him.

That video should be called "how to ruin a barrel in 16 seconds". lol.

I would love a chance to fire that thing, though.

Letting guns laying around in the house is probably the stupidest idea I have ever heard.

So you're saying, having a recliner for each of my guns in the living room with a bottle of gun oil (on coasters, of course) for each on the coffee table, is a bad idea?

Damn it.

Cryptic? What?

No...
I asked you a simple question and then told you, you could have answered your own question had you ever actually experienced a fire-fight...not cryptic at all.

Like I said, you've never been in a fire-fight and it shows....
We aren't shooting beer cans in the back yard here....

I have more trust in a dog than in your guys.

Back when I had time and patience for it, I used to teach IDPA point shoot. Mostly to cops.

The US spent lots of tax dollars on my being able to do this. I am really pretty good at it. It's a talent that's not useful in my life at this point, but there you go. Grant you, I don't put tens of thousands of rounds down range every year at this point, so I'm a bit dusty, but I'm still damned good at it. Your average meth head isn't going to stand a chance.

Okay

Posting pics of Jet Li, Uzi - Sub-Machine Gun (SMG) and yes the Video game Video are all cool....

So is being civil but this....

Posting this?!

Was simply uncalled for and I'm sure there should be some sort of ATSs T & C violation.

This is a family friendly site

And you think that just because you shot someone before, means that you have the right to shoot at anyone?

What kind of logic is that??

Hey, Bush and you have the same policies: "shoot first and ask questions later".

I thought you guys would love him.

So if the average meth head doesn't stand a chance, why the automatic guns? Why does it have to be an overkill?

Oh, I never keep a weapon on full auto. Select fire is your friend. Full auto is for crew served weapons or a SAW. Inside, it's semiauto.

Full auto is just right for a ma deuce. Pretty damned fun for a Mark 19. But not in the house.

I mean, I've got a couple of 50BMG rifles, too, but they're just a bit much for home defense, unless it's against helicopters.

Well, that's kind of my points.

The OP presents a vid on an automatic, and the first comments I see, are, "Hey, that's just PERFECT for home defence".

I'd agree with you, select fire is indeed one's friend in such situation.

But do the other repliers do?

I'm not so sure they do...

I personally observe that a n electric fence is more than enough to dissuade most intruders. And when this doesn't do the job, I like to keep a series of layers for the intruder to go through. Security dogs, trip wires, you name it. You know, kind of like an obstacle course on steroids.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but imagine home alone while reading that. Does it include tactical tar and feathers?

I kid. Whatever suits your needs I guess. I want to point out though, that an electrical fence can be easily defeated by a pair of rubber or plastic gripped wire cutters.

So, if I blow the intruder away with a shotty....10 or 20 small holes from one round....I have "explaining to do" because the guy is "bleeding like hell"?
ummm....that was kinda the intention. You know, STOP the threat.

Oh, really? If to stop a threat, you feel like you have to rig a person's body with multiple wound and haemorrhages, I suggest you see a psychiatric and/or lay off the Rambo movies.

That way, even when I'm not there, I know no one is going to rob my house. The beauty of passive defence is that it works even when you're not there. I personally have a life, and walking around holding a gun, constantly in fear of an intruder, is not my idea of life.

Trip wires? Electric fence? Guard dogs? Wow talk about paranoid. You need to move somewhere safer, or get a gun. I recommend one like in the video

No...I am saying you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to an intruder that is a threat to life and limb.
You expect that one round just "does the trick" every time.

You do a lot of assuming.
But....I said I was out of this thread a long time ago and I came back.

I've got other things to do at this point, so I'll leave you to your naive thoughts on the issue of shooting INTRUDERS (which, btw, doesn't equate to "anyone"......get real buddy!)

Take care.

ETA:

The OP presents a vid on an automatic, and the first comments I see, are, "Hey, that's just PERFECT for home defence".

No...the first comments you seen were "that is a bad ass weapon". I, nor the one that posted that comment, said that it was a "good home defense weapon"....(The shotty is better....with the proper ammo, of course)

(And, btw...I like your passive aggressive "agreement" about semi auto. Nice touch.
)

Asking questions later is for the uncommitted. I believe in shooting first and letting the deity of your choice sort out the dead in the afterlife. It's the only way to be sure.

Well, it's a little bit MUCH.

But it would be fun, maybe on burst fire.

It would cost you a fortune to load that up with Glasers.

Well, I find it certainly takes the edge off of doing it for the 38th time or whatever it is at this point.

Maybe right isn't the right term. "Enthusiastic guilt-less ability" might do better.
