Osama Bin Laden's son-in-law, who was an al-Qaeda spokesman after 9/11, has been sentenced to life in prison for terrorism-related charges at a trial in New York.
Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, 48, is the highest-ranking al-Qaeda figure to face trial on US soil since the attacks.
The Kuwaiti clergyman was captured in Jordan last year and brought to the US.
Prosecutors also allege that he agreed to appear in the group's propaganda videos after 11 September 2001 to call for further violence "while our buildings still burned".
The Kuwaiti preacher testified on Wednesday that those videos were based on "quotes and points by Sheikh Osama" and were intended to be religious sermons, encouraging Muslims to fight oppression.

but the crusades were a necessary response by christians to the expansionism of islam attempting to fulfill the requirements of their caliphate. We are now experiencing a renewed effort.
Abu Ghaith argued his role was a purely religious one, aimed at encouraging all Muslims to rise up against their oppressors.

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani policeman shot two men in jail on Thursday, killing one accused of blasphemy and wounding another condemned to death on the same charge, lawyers and an activist said.
Bhatti, who worked to protect the human rights of the country's beleaguered Christian minority, was on trial after an Islamic leader accused him in 2012 of sending text messages derogatory to the Prophet Mohammed's mother.
His family say police investigations show the phone was registered to someone else.
MULTAN:
