Dangerous Question ever asked by ATS User

Well, don't be posting things that are too insane. If someone watching our site from the government sees a possible loose cannon, they could stick your name on a watch list. They do this on lots of sites, not just ATS.

If it worries you that much, maybe you should reconsider using the internet for anything other than liking cat pictures on Facebook. Participating in any forum is NOT worth that much stress IMO.

I hate to be 'that person' but it has crossed my mind a time or two that if I posted something too close to the truth (on a lucky guess or either a sudden flash of insight) which TPTB did not want known (or even speculated about) they could most likely:
A) Find out who I am and where I live, and
B) Make my life take a turn for the worse in any number of ways.

Even though that is just a possibility, I admit I have back-spaced over some words before posting or even moved on to another thread entirely, without speaking my peace. Just a time or two. Call me chicken, call me paranoid, but I felt comfortable with my decision on those few occasions.

I gave good advice above as did many others. OP was being reassured as much as anyone could be. If one is that severely upset over anything they post, then health wise it might be better for them not to do it. People should do things on their own time that they enjoy and doesn't cause stress. They shouldn't do things that keep them in constant fear of losing their livelihood or their freedom. Fear is a bad feeling. True fear is a REALLY bad feeling.

I understand some paranoia. I understand some regret and it is wise to always consider what you are posting when you post it, but if posting causes you that much anxiety it's time to take a break IMO.

Would you consider yourself to be a paranoid person?

Well tell me this, have you ever 'lived on the edge' and posted something gutsy, only to hear a darn helicopter fly overhead 10 minutes later? No kidding-- it's unnerving as hell (even though I tell myself they're trying to catch somebody growing dope or something!)

Do you share your ATS threads on FB with your full name/location? If not then how does your boss know?

Anyone can, NSA or other, go ahead and do so if they want to categorize opinion and informational sources with names on ATS. ATS is a public internet forum. Anything you say in public manor can be tracked by whomever. However, proving who you are by name they'd have to track, ISP, etc.

Is anyone else getting a strange feeling about this OP? I know I am. Something isn't right here

Indeed I have. Not quite your story, but...

A while back I found a documentary on Netflix (if I recall correctly) about Black Eyed Kids (and other sordid things) and started watching it. It was about 2 am. I got curious about the whole BEK thing and looked up some old threads here. When I started digging in my power cut off. No storm. No wind. Just a blackout lol. I damn near blacked out.

Eek!!

You can really scare yourself sometimes. Then you wonder if you will blame yourself, ignore something, and miss something really good because you didn't want to be "that person".

It's a no win situation.

I'm only teasing... But yeah. I had already figured that out about the time the power cut off. I started to call my mom. I'm 37. Seriously though... It does trip you and I don't get scared of stuff like that. I could swear that I heard Twilight Zone music playing ever so faintly right by my front door.

If you keep up with all this paranoia and all your threads/comments are going to be about losing your job, the MODS will catch on quick and you might start to get warnings
You will get into trouble with ATS, not your job

Just relax and take a deeeeeep breath, get some coffee or beer or whatever your liquid poison is and try to enjoy the discussions the best you can and stay on track with the topic at hand.....

Are you a terrorist? If not you will be fine. The government does not care what anyone on here says at all. Unless you are actively plotting something and talking about it on here. They do not care. They want us all talking about this stuff. It makes their job easier. The more disinfo you believe. The easier it is for them to get away with stuff.

Even if you got lucky and posted the truth about absolutely every conspiracy. It would be buried in so much lies and crazy talk that it would not matter. Confusion is the name of the game. Truth mixed with lies. Lies mixed with truth. They want the truth out there. They want the lies out there. No one on here is important enough for the real players to ever get involved.
