Funny you referenced the lights that are always shown when talking about this incident...

Pretty sure those lights in the image you show are flares from a A-10 way off that was dispatched AFTER the incident was reported...

The only image of the actual "triangle" is 3 fuzzy black and white dots that show a triangle formation...

That is what pisses me off about this event... they always show the flares off in the distance because they look cooler than the actual footage...

Psyop in action...

I doubt it. Mexico city would be my guess. It was some type of holiday there and in broad daylight thousands of people witnessed and recorded the UFOs.

Oh dear OP, someone needs to tell him/her how ATS works, or what the owners actually expect when starting a thread.

Feed us the information, and we'll feed it back.

Feed us halfhearted OP's, expect halfhearted answers.

I stand corrected, it was an eclipse that brought them all out in the city that day.

You can say it but that don't make it so , the Phoenix lights were military flares.

Yes I think so too, great thread!

12 words and a picture is hardly a great thread.

No I think with all the testimonies from the people of Phoenix, we can rule out military flares, i believe more from a substantial amount of people, over one military guy who claims they were flares.

The case has not been resolved yet.

Did you not watch the video from the image analyst ? , how is it that the lights went out in the same order as they do in the video from the analyst with the overlaid mountain added ?

Even some of the witnesses said that what they saw wasn't what was on the video and their sightings were earlier , their belief was the flare drop was to cover for the whatever it was they saw.

Lights over the mountain were flares. Craft spotted before over multiple states and filmed, triangle. I hate this event because that was as close a chance of this craft being disclosed we'll get. The ufo dingdongs ruined it by being so easily swayed.

To this day 9/10 people questioned about this won't even mention the giant triangle craft, just the stupid lights by the mountain. And I know flares when I see them as I fired them in the military.

I feel the same way about this for the same reasons. Nobody seems to pay any attention to the real event of that night which is very easy to research. There were so many people that witnessed the giant triangle that night it's not even funny. All of them will tell you that it wasn't the flares that they were talking about but the giant triangle. I get tired of watching them play the flare video over and over and over whenever there is any mention of this case in a show, article, etc.

Since when did flares turn? I was able to watch these for about 40 minutes. They were definitely not flares and I still see them every now and again to this day out here...

Living in AZ I have had the experience of speaking to many folks who actually saw the thing... and no, not flares... not even close.

I believe the people who described the massive thing floating silently overhead... with enough twilight to see details on the thing.

It's mostly "anecdotal" in that pics are rare ... but several thousand people know that they saw something strange... and it wasn't the line of flares dropped by the A-10's hours later. This was a huge, physical looking object floating directly over head ... not lights in a line on the horizon.

It remains a paradigm breaking incident, imo.

I'm not disputing people saw something that night I'm just saying the Kitei video (pic in the OP)shows flares , perhaps the flares were a decoy to cover for something else I don't know .
If there was some massive craft in the skies over Phoenix that night we have only the witness testimony to go on and as we have learned over the years witness testimony is shaky at best.

At that time, 1997, what cell phones people had had bad cameras... but there are still a number of pics of it... many that haven't been published that I've seen from acquaintances. I imagine far more exist taken by people who don't want notoriety or the hassle that comes from public awareness of controversial matters.

The one's I've seen are mostly dark, grainy messes... vague chevron shape with 5 lights... but pics exist... there's a video, too, that did get aired once.

And the witness testimony covers all kinds, from shaky average joe's to detailed pilot and law enforcement observations. It's estimated that over 10,000 people saw this event.

One great testimony was by a private plane pilot (formerly Air Force) who flew over the ...whatever it was... and said he could have landed his plane on one "wing" of the chevron shaped black craft... landed it easily with room to spare.

There is much b.s. and noise attached to this event... like the stupid shot of the flares setting over the mountains, hours later, that gets played again and again and is NOT what people were talking about.... it was a big deal.

People ranged from hysterical to mystified... but it bubbled through the populace here for years after.

One guy I know who was a "poo-kicking" desert rat was out on his ATV with friends when this thing floated over and he actually soiled his underwear from fear and awe... something this guy isn't likely to lie about... the accounts are nearly endless.

I missed it as I was inside at my computer... but I did see a weird, huge white cylinder hanging motionless over Tucson in high winds three months later that still defies identification... for what it's worth.

I wish that image had a time stamp, because the flares were not dropped until after 10PM that night, and the other light formation were reported from 8-9PM.
Luke AFB did that flare drop much after the earlier light sighting reports came in, but they still tried to pass it off as accounting for the entire evening.
Not sure if my times are perfect, but the flares were dropped a full hour later than all the in pouring phone calls reporting the real event happened.
