Free Energy (put on foil hat for this)

It has been said that using magnets can not be used to produce energy without external input. I will type slow for all the haters of thought out there.

Here is my simple logic and i hope i am not wrong. First let's think about a mag lev train. They are real and they work on tracks that go from point a to point b.

Now take point a and combine to point b. You now have a mag lev train going in circles.

replace the electro magnets with permant magnets fixed along the track and point them in the direction of travel.

Now attach the train to the center point and connect the center to a shaft. Connect shaft to a generator.

Maglev trains operate using the principle of alternating currents where by the magnets in the rails have their polarity changed to push/pull the vehicle along.

Energy input is required to change the polarities.

There is no such thing as free energy. For a start, to magnetise a magnet you need energy.

with fixed permanent magnets you need an external force to start the train moving
and another to over come drag and keep it moving unless you are operating in a vacuum
fixed magnets only hold the train up.

There is FREE energy, i.e. without cost, but it has to come from somewhere - even if you built a pendulum that never stopped swinging for example, it would still need an initial push, which is energy input.
I favour the idea that there is a finite and measurable amount of energy in the universe, it just changes forms continuously.
I have played with such ideas many times, come up with some good viable ones too, but never really tested them. Magnets and their fields are probably at least part of the answer if there is one though

I wish it were that easy.. I do have the answer to free energy. Its actually very simple. It involves all the jails in the united states, all the crooked politicians and criminals being put in them, and thousands of exersize bikes and treadmills plugged into the grid in those jails. Wham bam thank you mam.. Free energy.

It has been said that using magnets can not be used to produce energy without external input. False you can make electricity by moving a magnet though a magnetic field. You can get some stationary but the way it is done today can get much.

That said, yes with a stationary magnet you can get something to move, But to keep moving is the question. It would have to be a very strong magnet to move that weight though. That's why they use electro magnets. If you could get a strong enough permanent magnet to move the weight. ( I don't think we have magnets strong enough, I may be wrong. )You would probably have to Give it a push to get started. If not how would you be stopped to load it? If it moved and kept going, i would think it would continue to climb in speed. You would have to control the speed by some means. Not to mention be able to stop. Not sure all this would be possible with today technology. I never say impossible. Many people made those claims before. " impossible to fly " I would rather say Hasn't been done yet.

That's basically like illegally tapping into the city's power line... free for you, but not really "free," tinfoil or no.

Now if we could tap into the Universe's power line, I doubt it would mind or fine us.

The people who are kings of this world due to oil money likely have a different outlook.

I have tried this. Not with trains but smaller magnets. The moving magnet seems to get stuck on a sticky point.
If you had something to push it past the sticky point each time it would work. Although not free you could get a battery to last a really long time.

Not illegal to put an antenna near the power line on your property. It is just picking up EM field and not draining any power. Just leaked power.If the was enough power though the line and enough antenna you could power something. In Brazil a shanty village near a million watt radio station they power a florescent light bulb with an antenna. Never tried it near a power line but it will work. a reply to: Baddogma

You are forgetting the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

There is not such thing as a perpetual motion machine, which is what you are suggesting.

This is not new, it just does not work. lol

All that talk and all the thinking about real, "free" energy is a waste of time.
Because we do not NEED "free" energy when in fact energy is all around us. Most obvious example: The Sun

It really makes me crazy to think about how ineffective solar energy still is..respective that many don't really use it. I live in Spain and the heat and free solar "power" 300+ days a year is just out of this world.

YET...I do not USE it. It burns down like crazy, and instead of harvesting this endless energy I put on the air condition and SPEND ADDITIONAL ENERGY to cool the house down. How does this even make sense?
