Black On White Hate Crime In Springfield, MO

This will go on ... and on ... and on ... and on ... and on ... until there is backlash.

All this crap gets blamed on society ... when it's not society's fault. It's the fault of the parents who raised these hoodlums thugs.

Picture the parents and siblings of these punks dragged into the streets and whipped to death. Picture it happening every time such an incident occurs. What would it take ... a week?

What kills me is that stories like this, especially when I can view the hate crime, fill my own mind/heart with hate too. I don't want to ever become "racist", I have numerous friends of all races, but incidents like this puts racist thoughts in my mind... It's really hard to articulate what I mean, feel here, hopefully you get the jist...

I don't want this thread to think I'm racist towards african american people. I'm not... I just hate thugs/punks/gang bangers/etc... They offer nothing positive to the world...

This wasn't directed at me, but I know exactly what you mean. I cannot explain it either....but it's late and I am a bit bored tonight and tired of reading so I'm going to roll with it.

We are a species that compartmentalizes....it's part of the human condition. We do it to make sense of our world and detect threat from "friendly"......I believe this has a LOT to do with what you are describing (without really describing it..lol)
We see this stuff as threatening and our brain seeks to compartmentalize and note that threat. At it's most basic level, the brain doesn't think in terms of "racism bad"...it thinks "those thugs equal threat"....

I don't believe it is racist...but I know that it can lead to generalizations that aren't true to reality. That I know from personal experience in listening to myself when I start reading too much about one singular type of incident, regardless of race.

....just a thought.

This has Nothing to do with race. It has Everything to do with the way those thugs were raised. The parents need to be punished (reap what you sow) to end this kind of senseless violence.

Did you think I meant to say that white people shouldn't be treated equally? LOL Let a group of white kids do this to blacks and visit tremendous harm on their families as well. And ... I think the media should be 'forced' to cover every incident ... primetime ... without fuzzing out any details.

Violence is promoted endlessly. Overhearing television today sounds like a torture chamber. Then the video games, points for stabbing pedestrians. Murder is as easy as a quick push of a button. We've become desensitized to it obviously.

Didn't even happen overnight, it was gradual. War and media helped proliferate it and now it's acceptable to a lot of people. Crazy times we live in, I don't even like to leave my door unlocked for a second. Racism gets to me. It's the double standards. A person could say something about Chinese people then wolf down Chinese food. Or hate black people but lust after them.

I didn't watch the video because I don't like to see that stuff. Sick.

Exactly. Thus, does that actually make it "racist" or is it simply a case of identifying a threat and working with said knowledge? I say, the latter....

I am absolutely "racist" (since we are going with a loose definition of that word at the moment) towards "gangsta culture". Being one that used to hang out in various projects in a nearby city (smaller city, mind you) I am all too familiar with "gangsta culture" and it is infectious amongst minorities and increasingly infectious amongst "white youth".....pop culture and media play it up, because it sales.

I was once enamored by it...admittedly. I was young, dumb, blind, deaf...all the above. I was reckless and it showed.
I realized long ago that "gangstas" were not the friends I once imagined them to be. As a "white guy in the hood" get in a fight with one of "them" (yeah, that one will probably get picked apart by some PC person that will eventually see it...lol..but you know what I mean) and tell me about those "friends" you had.
....having said that, it is a two way street with identifying the threat and compartmentalizing thoughts/ideals about others of other races.

.....having said THAT.....I still say, anyone who would do such a thing [knockout game] doesn't deserve the breath in their lungs, and ultimately, THAT is where the buck stops for me. The rest is just musing on some internet board.

It is societal in a way, because the parents of these youth are raising them the same way they were raised - they don't know any other way. And these guys will have kids and raise them the same way. It goes back generations, and it will continue for generations.

Getting out of this rut is a very complicated societal issue. Killing them all is one solution, but not very humane in my opinion. The only way I see to (peacefully/nonviolently) get out of this rut is to make it easier for them to get out. Start when they are very young. Show them the way. Offer programs, mentors. Take them away from their parents and put them with families who will teach them better ways to live. You know, the type of community organizing that "some people who shall be nameless" were demonized for.

This is exactly the reason I always carry a firearm. I would of shot every single one of them if they kept coming. Chances are they would run the second you drop one of them. But I would of shot to kill. Then afterward I would call in a bomb threat to their funeral just to add insult to injury. F*ck these low life trashy racist Mother Fu*ckers.

Yes...and as Benevolent Heretic pointed out, one of the thugs appears to be white. So it kind of kills the racist argument.
It is "gangsta" culture that creates this and as I mentioned before, it is infectious and has most certainly infected the minds' of many white you as well as minorities across the board.

The media has keep this in the public spotlight ("gangsta" culture) and it is sensationalized and glorified in a variety of ways, across the media board via movies, music, and tv.

There is an agenda within that, that would make for a good thread of it's own if you could keep out those who claim that the CIA is behind everything on this planet and have a real discussion about how the agenda is ACTUALLY perpetuated. Much of it is a sort of "domino effect"....it is just put in play by the true "evil" in this world, whatever that may be defined as (it's a bit subjective really)

A useful idiot, truly (and that is said even though I really like a lot of what he brought to the table for the poor and downtrodden...again, opinions vary but it is my opinion that he did raise awareness of a plethora of problems in "the hood"....one can only do so much while working within the confines of the established status quo)

I watched the clip over and over again, I still think that is a black man, a light-skinned black man... But I guess we are all speculating until these criminals are caught, booked, and then we know 100% sure what their race is.. But even if it was a white person (which im not convinced it is in this video) we still have loads of black men in this clip. Still doesn't change my feelings either way about these animals in the video..

I brought back the race issue because that is what happened here. To say that this attack was not race motivated is pure BS.

I like how you already say before my response your not going to prove the point you try to make about white kids. But I dont care enough about that with a simple google search im sure I can find some instances about white kids beating on blacks or being thugs. But it is still drop in the ocean compared to the overwhelming number of hate crimes commited by blacks against whites. But I have no desire to "prove" that here.
