lol, "This hat is functional because it allows me to poison myself without getting the poison wet."

And yes, we wear a Stetson when we need a wide brimmed hat. (here in the US)

You're right boymonkey.... I absolutely would wear one. Why? Because I don't care lol. Find me one with a kangaroo on it and I'll rock down here in the south until it makes some kind of headline news.

I think it's because Japanese culture historically dictates to avoid sustained eye contact. In the west, people are annoyed when they can't see somebody's eyes. Personally, I agree with the Japanese on that one. I sometimes feel violated when somebody just stares into my eyes without knowing me very well.

It is an unfortunate American thing. They rank right up there with the "Trendies". I can't tell the difference, but I'm told there is one.

For it to be a hit with those, you need at least 90% of the young adult population to participate.

Thelonious Monk wore one, at least once. They might be more common among eccentric geniuses than among the general public.

Ha ha!
Thanks for making me smile!

Your hat is ...... magnificent!
Does it have Bluetooth?

I've wanted one for ages. And I love my kimono too - a perfect combo for a stroll around the shops or a snifter of port down the Legion.

When you become the Giorgio Armani of Chinese Hats I will be your first customer.
Chinese hats are awesome, and bluetooth would be a super optional extra.
Along with built in speakers, a cigarette holder and some poison darts.

Follow your dreams.........

edit - Somewhere in China there is a guy in a bowler hat thinking along the same lines as you.
Thus the earth stays in balance.

OH, those Hats are just so Priceless if you're working in the sun or rain. I used to wear one as I working in my grandfathers fields as a very young child in China.
I have two here, But my husband won't wear the Lamp Shade Unless He's Drunk!
