Interesting but with today's technology the Russian side of the mutually assured destruction is no longer plausible so if they push it too far then there military asset's will be liquidated with extreme prejudice and there Missile silo's with nuclear strike's so Putin may be leading his people on a doomed gamble as China will dump him at the first sign thing's will not go there way.

Not that I believe anything will happen, but how will a war play out in this day and age?

Would it be a conventional 'ground war'? (Even though these countries hold nukes?)

Also interesting to think about how the mental discipline and training of young soldiers in the US today would fare against other countries soldiers.
