Judicial Watch reports that the Department of Justice is giving liberal activist groups money from a $16.6 billion settlement with Bank of America.

The groups benefitting from the lawsuit, according to Investor’s Business Daily, are the National Council of La Raza, Operation Hope, National Community Reinvestment Coalition, and Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America. The money also went to “delinquent borrowers” in Chicago, Oakland, Detroit, Philadelphia, and other major “Democrat strongholds.”

“This is a wealth redistribution scheme disguised as a lawsuit,” Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, told The Daily Caller. “And who benefits from the distribution? Interest groups the administration relies on, outside interest groups, allies and politicians in communities trying to benefit as well.”

Talk about redistribution of wealth in the making. The DOJ is using lawsuits to redistribute money to leftwing organizations.

Bank of America systematically rips off millions of Americans - regardless of their personal politics - and this money is going to liberal organizations? Shouldn't it go to, I don't know - the persons who were ripped off by Bank of America?

Older of my relatives who lived through the Depression always warned about banks. When I was younger and still a sheep, I thought they were wrong for their warnings. I no longer believe this.

Keep a stash.

Can we please define what you mean by liberal?

Is being a liberal a bad thing? Worse than being a conservative?

Progressive cleverness is never-ending

Well how else are they supposed to set up the next default crash?

La Raza, Operation Hope, National Community Reinvestment Coalition, and Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America have all intimidated banks to give loans to minorities, even if they can’t afford to pay them back.

The banks will now finance the future bank scams !!

The points are
(1) The money isn't being refunded to those whom it was stolen (yes, stolen in most cases) from and
(2) The money is being given to a specific group of people (companies) of a certain political affiliation instead of being given based on non political criteria

Whether given to liberal or conservative, it would still be wrong!

The banks make a killing off over draft fees, late fees, high interest loans for the poor. Someone with $1,000 can not simply open a bank account without encountering fees. Saving accounts will often deduct an amount if it drops below a certain number. In other words, the will take money away from the poor man with less than $100 in savings.

Meanwhile when someone with $10,000,000 wants to open a bank, they roll out the red carpet that was paid for by all the poor they have been taking from.

This is how the economy is the US is set-up, in my opinion this is largely because of Reaganomics.

Left: "This is because of REAGANOMICS!! SEE WHATS HAPPENING?!?!"
Right: "All this good stuff from reaganomics!! we need more bring it back!!"

When I read about it I just get opinions... but I dont know a whole lot about it. I was also in pre-school when Reagan was president.

I do agree with you that banks screw the common 9-5er, and yet people are still forced to do business with them on a daily basis. The only way out of doing business with these banks is if you quit your job and live in the woods. Even small banks screw you.

It seems the DOJ, .gov et al. have the same attitude banks have. Take and take and take and take. They just take what they want, use it for their own political purposes while publicly announcing it and patting them selves on the back.

And there isn't a damn thing we can do about it... until people loose their iPads, TiVO, Dancing with the stars, and other brave new world crap.

I concur.

We do live in a Brave New World kind of society. Not all of us. It does seem like more are waking up to the 2 party, liberal vs conservative facade.

Every election year in the US is a great show of human stupidity.

That said, some are going to be fools and a fool and his money are soon to part. It is just unfortunate for broke blokes like myself that the system is rigged heavily in favor of those who have money, so they can keep their money even if they practice bad business practices as the banks bailouts proved.

Thats why the government gets away with this crap. We revolted against the originating government for less, alot less. Honorable people died fighting for something greater than themselves, liberty.

Most people today, especially my age have no clue what liberty is. They probably think its the same thing as liberalism, or having a protest for womens rights to walk around topless because they want equality and free healthcare.

The reason the government does crap like this in the OP and will continue to do so is because of complacency, the cancer that infects and kills Liberty; slowly.

The money is going to liberal groups. You need to understand what you read. The article even mentions the liberal groups that are getting money from this latest scam.

Whether it is liberal, or conservative groups scamming money from U.S. tax payers is simply wrong.

The current administration has shown itself to be against conservatives and anyone who is not part of a liberal group. From the IRS scandal in which they were targeting conservative groups, to the vilification and even the labels of Americans who believe the U.S. government should defend and uphold the U.S. constitution, and instead claiming such Americans are "possible extremists". Now we have this latest scandal in which the DOJ is using lawsuits to redistribute wealth to liberal groups.

The IRS...yes some serious BS went on with the lost email debacle.

This is politics. Tactics 101 on beating the other guy.

However to say that the DOJ is using lawsuits to distribute wealth to liberal groups is malarkey.

She is an actress/model, Dani Chuchran. In that particular photo she was playing the elven huntress Nemyt in the movie "Saga: Curse of the Shadow" while fighting an orc with her MA skills and her skills with a katana. She does practice MA, and MMA in real life. She is actually really beautiful.

In Europe the dvd of that movie in particular was released under the name "The Rise of the Shadow Warrior."

Puppet Obama and one of his top campaign funders (Bank of America) get money taken from them and handed over to Pro Amnesty Groups of which Corporate Lobbyists are a part of and the poor people are to blame lol.

No Corporate Lobbyists are the problem. DOJ is giving kickbacks to friends in high places that are all on the same team.

Liberal groups which are named in the article were the ones receiving a great part of the money the DOJ is laundering, or redistributing through lawsuits.

Why do you have to claim that "poor people" are all part of these groups?... First of all, there are plenty of poor people who are not liberal... Second of all, just because these groups and the people who run them are liberal it doesn't mean they are poor...

That was damn right hliarious.

Because REGULATIONS is the biggest reason for those 'hikes'.

Who makes 'regulations' ?

That would be government.

I forget who was it that created fiat currency ?

The government.

Who controls the entire financial sector of this country ?

That would be the government, and the federal reserve that CONTROLS EVERY financial investment vehicle there is.

Once upon a time in America banks use to lend their own money ( made off of fees, and savings accounts, and money markets etc).

Today all the bankers do is call up the federal reserve who pulls fiat currency out of their snip.

The Federal Reserve charges the bank a fee. The bank charged the consumer a free.

Which both the Fed and the bank are making money over nothing.

And the government makes gets it take off the top.

I don't know why people are so obsessed over money.

People are literally fighting over nothing.

Here in Illinois about 200 million is pretty much going DIRECTLY to the politicians. This lump sum is going into the public employees pension fund. The theory is the fund was hurt by the housing scandal but almost every fund was also hurt. Out of all the things they could have helped they put themselves first.

In the last settlement with BofA, the funds went mostly to wealthy real estate investors. Why? Because the government WOULD NOT allow anyone with a Fannie Mae loan get a write down. This pretty much left the real estate investors to get their loans paid off.

Please don't let this be about the right or the left. The politicians are taking care of the elite as they always do.

The problem is a lot of people seem to think these groups are made up of only poor people, and that's not true. In the end the real poor people in the U.S. are not getting anything out of this except more empty promises. I know of plenty of conservative friends who are not rich people, and in fact they have to live in a big family group to be able to afford food, and their house payments.

This is not about the differences in opinion of people, but rather these liberal groups that are getting free money off the taxpayers. Unfortunately we see the same thing happening also with large conservative groups. The worse part is that the country keeps getting in deeper and deeper debt, and no one seems to care. The national debt as of August 1st is 17.6 Trillion U.S.D. The debt ceiling keeps getting raised meanwhile the dollar keeps devaluing, and in the end what will happen is that the dollar will completely crash, and these groups would have done what they have wanted to do for a long time.

BTW, I am Hispanic, and not a racist but I know what groups like "la raza" really want. I have heard in Spanish what they say in rallies. Meanwhile Americans who have been paying income taxes their whole life keep getting into debt these groups want more illegal immigrants, who destroyed the economy of their own countries, to enter the U.S. and to be legalized. In turn these people want to turn the U.S. into what their country is, a big mess. And of course since these liberal groups know that these people will vote democrat it is part of the reason the leaders of these groups are getting so much money. To help in this endeavor of drowning the U.S. with more and more illegal immigrants meanwhile giving billions of dollars to these people who never paid income taxes in their whole life.

Where in the world are all these people going to be send, and who do you think will pay for these people? BTW, I am an immigrant myself, but have always been a legal immigrant. The government never gave my parents or me a red cent, and we never expected anything either. Yet there are people who seem to think that they should be paid free money without having done anything to earn that money, and this is simply wrong. In the end this is only going to hurt not only the economy but everyone, except the rich elites of course who are part of these groups that are getting free money from the U.S. taxpayer.

Is this any different from a few years ago? Remember when all those states got settlement money from the banks and, instead of giving it to the people involved, they just spent it on tax breaks and corporate welfare?

I'd rather see it going to someone who might actually help people, rather than back into the states coffers.
