Why Obama Backed Off More ISIS Strikes: His Own Team Couldn’t Agree on a Syria Strategy

This is a MSM story, likely accurate, about Obama’s indecision to attack ISIS.
Seems very authoritative and informative. I would read the rest...it tells a lot about Obama.

Below are a few select quotes:

After lots of bluster about striking ISIS on Syria, President Obama threw cold water on the idea, disappointing those who wanted him to broaden the war.

After a week of talk of eliminating the "cancer" of ISIS, President Obama said Thursday that he was not planning to significantly expand the war against the Islamic extremist movement anytime soon.

His remarks came after days of heated debate inside the top levels of his own national security bureaucracy about how, where, and whether to strike ISIS in Syria. But those deliberations – which included a bleak intelligence assessment of America's potential allies in Syria -- failed to produce a consensus battle plan. And so Obama, who has long been reluctant to enter into the Syrian conflict, told reporters Thursday that “we don’t have a strategy yet” for confronting ISIS on a regional level.

Those inside the administration advocating for going after ISIS in both Iraq and Syria were sorely disappointed – and lamented their boss's lack of urgency in rooting out a threat that only days before was being described in near-apocalyptic terms.

“Senior strategists in the U.S. government have been working hard all week to gather multiple options that the president had asked for to strike ISIS in Syria. There was a deep rooted belief among many -- especially among military circles -- that the ISIS threat can’t be kicked down the road, that it needs to be confronted now, and in a holistic way,” said one Obama administration official who works on the Middle East. “This press conference is going to lead to even more doubt by those that thought that this White House was ready to take meaningful action against ISIS across the board.”

Obama addressed the White House press corps Thursday afternoon just before personally chairing a meeting of his National Security Council, his top cabinet members and national security staffers. The meeting was the culmination of an intense week-long process that included series of lower level meetings and at last one Principals’ Committee that officials described as an effort to convince Obama to expand his air war against ISIS in Iraq to Syria as well.

But before the meeting even started, the president seemed to have made up his mind.

Some questions that come to mind are:

Is Syria going to be Obama’s Bay of Pigs? As many in the Military hierarchy are getting frustrated with his indecision.

Does Obama have the historical and strategic know how to even make an intelligent decision?

Although the article says they are divided in the upper echelons of Obama’s advisors, isn’t it up to him to form a consensus and choose a viable plan?

What concerns me is did the bombings actually hinder or help ISIS?

With Obama, who knows.

Can we really believe anything released in the MSMalarkey?

But his golf game has never been better, so that's nice.

He couldn't lead a stray dog if he was dragging a rib roast.

He came into the job with zero leadership experience.

His only real talent is giving speeches and fundraising, which apparently is all it takes these days.

The ISIS mess shows his total lack of a spine, and reinforces the leadership vacuum right now.

Can't blame him. This is a major tough tough situation the world is facing. Since it seems USA is the only country people are expecting to do anything about this blight to the world, Obama is going to have to take time to ensue he does the right thing.

I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
Not now.
Not ever.

Depending on who you want to read these rumors have been around for a long time. I used to have a list of several key positions which have been filled by the religion of peace by this admin.. One of the guys, 'a Mohamed Elibiary' who is a senior fellow of Obama’s Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council made the news last year when he claimed the U.S. was an “Islamic country,” explaining in another tweet later (reportedly since deleted), (quote) “I said America was an Islamic country not a Muslim country. Pls study up on the difference b4 attacking me.”(end quote)

I am all for inclusiveness for a better understanding etc etc but... Last year there were threads on ATS about Obama's half brother raising funds for the Muslim Brotherhood when Egypt was going through their purge. Again just rumors except for the half brother story which was documented.

Your not so dumb.
It is all about the pipelines.
The Saudi's are using all that money we paid to them for oil
to not only purchase platinum ,gold, and silver bodied Audi's,
but to create total havoc FOR ANOTHER PIPELINE.

They don't give a # about who has to die or anything else.
That means you pal.

Hell, on Sundays they won't even press an elevator button.
Just like some of their Orthodox Brethren elsewhere.

But God Forbid that you try to build a Christian Church
over there (Middle East). It is really a losing proposition.
Because they will most likely Burn It Down.

But oh for sure they would like to build a
minaret in your front yard.
We are Brave, We allow and promote

That takes guts.

By The Way,
My Uncle Sam has the ways and means to

Needless to say any efforts to decouple
The United States Dollar will result
in Worldwide Panic and Immobilization.

It always made no sense to me that the commander in chief can be the head of the most powerful military on Earth and yet never have served in it. I was always told you have to be a soldier before you know how to lead soldiers, but the President can be the Supreme Commander without ever having been in the same place as those under his command.

I think the real reason that Obama is backing off ISIS is because they want to milk all of the fear that he can out of them. Most people that I come across are absolutely oblivious to the fact that ISIS is the same group that was being trained, funded and armed by US agencies just a few years ago to fight Assad. Now they are talking about arming the Sunnis who were the main OPFOR in Iraq for the past 10 years.

Ridiculously insane is the only way I can think of to describe it all.
