This comes as a bit of a surprise, but it is welcome news. The scholastic standards have not slipped as far as some other countries....
But what does this say about education in general....not too successful I imagine...when one considers the remaining % who didn't have the answers correct to some simple science questions.......

From the OP's source:

"While 87 per cent [of survey respondents] knowing that the . . . earth goes around the sun is pretty good, that still leaves 13 per cent of Canadians who haven't absorbed the astronomical knowledge of several centuries ago," said Ingram, who was among 14 experts who compiled the report.

What??? Who could take such a survey seriously after that revelation? LOL

As a Canadien, or more preciselly, a Cape Bretoner, by way of the Valley in Ottawa, eh,,

this part, The report said 42 per cent of Canadians "grasp basic concepts and understand general media coverage of scientific issues."

does that mean the rest of us dont trust the media, and research it ourselves??

gotta be +,, pos.,, eh,,

positive.

58% do our own research and draw our own conlusions, so yup thats 100%

Yeah pretty funny that some thought it was in the US itself.
