During the height (well.. yeah you know kinda height) of the tensions in Syria when everyone was wondering what would spark it of, all of a sudden this missile was launched from the sea and Russia I believe cauaght it on radar and no one knew who it was or where it came from. It appeared like a provocation like maybe to get them to fire back.
I found a link I BELIEVE relates to it. I think it was the one that Israel got mad that the US outed them on.
link
edit: damn touch screen anything.
I remember now, thanks for the link.
Now that you mention it I also recall contemplating the same kind of scenario. In my opinion this theory you presented about Israel trying to provoke Syria is highly plausible.
Even in today's news:
Syrian rebels, including fighters from an al-Qaida-linked group, seized control of a frontier crossing with Israel in the Golan Heights on Wednesday after heavy clashes with President Bashar Assad's forces, activists and rebels said.
...
Israel says it holds the Syrian government responsible for any violence that emanates from its territory.
bigstory.ap.org...
So Israel is making threats again...always looking for a reason to join the fun.
I believe Israel to have their hand so deep in the ISIS cookie jar but I just can't prove it regardless of evidence that indicates this to be true. The evidence is indirect and speculative but there is so much that it can't be ignored.
The whole region is a damned puppet show.
I'm going to arbitrarily blame this whole thing on Afghanistan. That's pretty close to your logic. Way to go. Anytime we don't have an answer and need to blame someone for something bad, there's always evil Israel.

Im sorry but is there any proof/evidence of this infowars claim!
What exactly is this thread concluding? is it verified?
Frankly im getting tired of reading through every ATS thread. most comments are worthless, as are most threads! so please summarize!
thank you
Well nothing has been "concluded", just a few ideas have been shared in regards to the the OP article and other events in the region. As for verification that is beyond my my scope of support as I'm not in Iraq or Syria so I apologize that I can't prove or disprove any of the claims made in the OP. Most of the people in this thread have been quite clear in pointing out that their theories are not to be interpreted as fact.
If you think most threads and comments are worthless perhaps this is not the site for you? As for a summary, I suggest you read the OP then read the following comments.

James Foley Siblings Speak Volumes!
The Brother and Sister of supposed beheaded man James Foley show their happiness and delight. Where do they get these people from?
Who said Comedy Shows weren't as funny as they used to be?
Yeah, I saw a clip of his brother in an interview and it just did not seem right. It was not the voice and face of a man whose sibling had been beheaded on video by sand people.

Pretty hilarious really, many would disbelieve the US government if they said the sky was blue, but Syrian government? All good, they're the beacons of righteousness and truth!
