www.fcwa.org...

It has raised over 30 million dollars, and people have "wasted" all of $1500 worth of water. Get off your high horse. You aren't saving the planet by conserving water. Next, you'll whine about people wasting sunshine while tanning at the beach.

By your logic, people in LA should be ashamed of themselves for basking in the sunlight, because people in Scotland and Alaska don't get much sun during the winter months. It just isn't fair.

Right on! Oh, but those tanners are so selfish, what with sucking up all the sun.
We can't have that now can we! LOL!!!

The wasting water argument is ridicules as millions of gallons of water are wasted every year through leakage , the ice bucket challenge is a bit of fun and if raises money for a good cause it's all for the good.

I had a hot water tank split down the seam in my basement once and before I even noticed it, over 20k gallons of water had spilled into my basement. Luckily for me, water in my area is basically free, because had I spilled that much of anything else, I'd still be paying off the debt.

I don't hate it. I just think it's stupid. You don't have to soak yourself to donate to ALS.

How exactly does the ice bucket challenge make any money? The people that are dumping the water on themselves are doing so to avoid donating money. I thought the whole point was to give money and avoid the ice water.

Give $100 to avoid the water, give $10 to dump the water on yourself and nominate other people, plus free internet points. Those are currency nowadays, aren't they?

People come to expect clownish behavior. It's turned into one long Americas Funniest Home Videos run. Good job in making something so silly become so popular.

For the wasted water proponents

Or you can do it with class.

Exactly.

Moreover, I think it's a terrible message sent to children who think these 'challenges' are fun...Just read the headlines about the fire challenge or the choking challenge...

Just one step away from the Jackass shows, imo.

I answered it honestly. I didn't think you were. I'm sorry, but my honesty is so advanced that it is confused for sarcasm on the interwebs.

It's not wasted water when leakage happens. I leave a leak all the time and it has a necessary function.

Lol - the thing about the challenge is its' a joke. How many people do you think are actually donating?

Also, all the people doing the challenge are those who are doing so to avoid donating yes?

Most of the celebrities doing it havent donated a dime it is simply because it is the 'thing' right now.

The Ice Bucket challenge will not change or help anything. 30 mil? The corrupt CEO's leading our world piss that amount away on fine dining.

How do lose 20,000 gallons without getting wet feet at the least ?

The only thing about the ice bucket challenge that outrages me is that people have to resort to stunts to get people to donate money to an org that helps people. I know it created a lot of awareness but it goes to show you if something isn't posted allover social networks and the news no one will care.

I don't hate it, it's just pointless... An excuse to join the latest thing on the internet.

yeah!

well I got a dripping tap out the front of my house and it fills a 9 litre watering container every night... waste, eh?

also... it is 6 am here in Australia and I am going to have a shower for about 30 minutes in a moment, so I wonder how much water I am wasting everyday?

at least they have raised some money for a good cause.

The point is to draw people who would not normally give to that cause to do so even if as little as $10. When you nominate 3 to 4 people per dousing you can raise serious money. The cause just became personal to me as my brother's father in law was diagnosed and was a great mentor in our school system so I had no problem doing the challenge and donating as well. a reply to: intrepid
