A reported 6.1 earthquake hit the North Bay around 3:20am today.
It was centered between Napa and American Canyon. Status as of 6:30am: INJURIES: 87 patients have been treated or are being treated at Queen of the Valley Hospital. There are three major injury cases known at this time.
There are a dozen ambulances running with 10 more coming into service. Four mobile homes destroyed and two on fire on Orchard Avenue in north Napa. GAS LINES: Crews are responding to approximately 50 reported gas line breaks. WATER MAINS: There are approximately 30 water main leaks.
Both water treatment plants running, no damage. Some areas have no water due to main breaks and some areas no or low pressure. Water remains safe to drink. City crews are assessing infrastructure damage and damage to homes and other buildings. Historic Buildings damaged: • Sam Kee Laundry • Goodman Library • Napa County Courthouse At least two commercial buildings in the downtown area are also severely damaged.
SHELTERS: The Red Cross evacuation center has been set up in the Napa High School Gym. Drop boxes for debris will be placed at all public schools. The next briefing will be at 10am and an update will be posted here immediately afterward.

My brother in law lives in Fairfield. A suburb of SFO. We haven't called them yet. Do you know if it's nearby the epicenter ? We're going to call in a bit. It's about 8 AM there. A bit early for a Sunday morning call. Especially if they got woken up in the middle of the night. a reply to: BuzzCory
VIII. Destructive - Damage slight in structures of good design, considerable in normal buildings with a possible partial collapse. Damage great in poorly built structures. Brick buildings easily receive moderate to extremely heavy damage. Possible fall of chimneys, factory stacks, columns, monuments, walls, etc. Heavy furniture moved.
