@ Navy Doc and wanderingconfusion please stop acting like racist folks just died or wandered off to some other planet after 1964,yes government in theory tried to get an angle on "Institutionalized Racism" but that do not mean it hasn't morphed into more subtle and insidious forms, level playing?? yes they are improvements even vast improvements
the swell of Black and latinos in in jail are not there for hard crimes but for drug use although they use and sell drugs at the same rate as whites, now Hispanic males ages 18 to 19 were more than 3 times as likely as white males of .Black males in this age group were almost 9.5 times more likely than white and are 4 times more likely to be arrested for marijuana.

What happens when you are an ex con?? good luck explaining missing time on a job application or trying to vote.
So don't tell me there aren't folks in those institutions who won't throw a monkey wrench in those improvements, and have a I pop quiz are the vast majority of Blacks poor?? middle class,?? then there is the often repeated fact but no longer factual that there are more Blacks entangled in the Criminal Justice system than in College fact is that's old facts
By the Numbers: More Black Men in Prison Than in College? Think Again

klik here^ for the numbers. now this is in spite of the fact that things are slanted against them.
Now these old school racist are making a hard come back and they ain't subtle about trying to roll back time, the voter registration laws are aimed at Blacks and other minorities to disenfranchise them period, the next move after that would be to gerrymander those districts to keep a lock on power no matter the popular vote in any given community the result most of those communities would have the same disparities as Furguson.
Some AA communities need to step their game up which is true, noticed I said "Some" because I am sure many here view Black communities as a monolith maybe they won't reach the level of relative affluence as these AA communities over night but they can take steps towards it,first keep hip hop but shun gangsta, pull up your pants you are a grown ass man, unless you are especially lite skinned, tattoos looked stupid on you ,until drugs are made legal and I am talking of ganja keep out of that business get busted and you will not become a full citizen ever again I don't care what your birth certificate say.focus on family education and economics stay alert for changes in politics and the law.

I hear what you are trying to say, but to minimize the day to day of how blacks and whites are treated by society in general is ignoring half the problem. Stereotypes take a long time to die when they aren't continually challenged. I see how black friends are treated differently by others solely because of their skin color and that's not right. African Americans may have self inflicted wounds, but they have come after far deeper wounds that continue to exist in society.

If I may, keep feeding the fire. If it looks like it's dying, add more fuel until it roars back to life. Al Sharpton is good at keeping fires raging on forever.
A 36-year-old woman walking through Central Park was shot in the back of the head with a pellet gun in an apparent hate crime, police said Saturday. The shaken victim told the Daily News she was leaving the park at W. 60th St. and West Drive about 12:05 a.m. Monday when she strolled past a group of black youths. The two men and three women — all in their late teens or early 20s — said nothing as they passed by. But moments later, the woman felt a “horrible pain” in the back of her head. “My hand went up to my head, and there was blood gushing everywhere,” said the woman, who asked to be identified only as Hanna.
“I turned around, and I said, ‘What are you doing? Why are you doing this to me? What’s wrong with you people?’” One of the women immediately unleashed a barrage of racial epithets. “F—- you, you f—— white b—-,” the woman hissed, Hanna recalled. Then one of the men popped his head out from behind a tree and joined in the racially fueled verbal attack. “All white people suck,” the man hollered. “F— white people.” The group fled, leaving Hanna bloodied and in tears.
“I've lived here for awhile. I have not had these types of issues,” she said. “I have friends and family of all backgrounds. That’s what I find so amazing, that people are that hateful.”
On Sunday, Ralph Weens IV, was beaten in West Point, Mississippi. Weens and his friend David Knighten were attacked outside a local restaurant by a black lynch mob.
Weens was with David Knighten, an Afghanistan veteran, who was also severely injured in the attack. The group of around 20 black men were upset about Michael Brown’s shooting death in Ferguson, Missouri. Don’t expect this story to make many national headlines.
The witnesses described the aggressors as a group of black males but couldn’t provide any other information. The victim of the assault is white. Chief Tim Brinkley said, “This does not appear to be a hate crime. We are investigating this as an aggravated assault. It’s very early in this investigation but thus far the evidence and statements suggest that a verbal altercation turned physical and somebody got hurt.”
A 65-year-old man was confronted by a group of women and beaten up in front of his 7-year-old great grandson at a Victorville, California, gas station Friday afternoon in an incident that was caught on camera, officials said.
During the early 1970s until 1974, anywhere from 14 to 270 murders of whites were carried out up and down the California coast by approximately 15 members of the Black Muslims, who are now known as the Nation of Islam. The murders became known as the "Zebra Killings" because police working the case used frequency "Z." Many people thought that the term "Zebra" referred to the fact that the crimes were all white-on-black murders.
The Black Muslims were led from circa 1933 until 1975, by the Hon. Elijah Muhammad/Elijah Poole; the since renamed Nation of Islam is led by Min. Louis Farrakhan. Five of the killers, or as they called themselves, Death Angels, were caught and convicted: Jesse Lee Cooks, J.C.X. Simon, Larry Green, Manuel Moore and Anthony Harris, on Harris' testimony.
However, there were fifteen or more Zebra killers. As Clark Howard chronicled in his book, Zebra: The True Account of the 179 Days of Terror in San Francisco, the killers received help from fellow Black Muslims, and the Black Muslims paid the legal fees of all of the arrestees except for Harris. There would otherwise have been no way for them to elude capture. Two of the reasons contributing to the Zebra killers' success were the authorities' political cowardice in covering-up their knowledge of organized racial, mass murder, and their refusal to keep houses of worship under surveillance (sound familiar?).

So what exactly is your point ?
No I didn't watch the video nor am I interested to watch it , care to give a summary or clarify your points?
I have been to many events where blacks are the predominate attenders. I and my husband have heard the whispers and experienced the "looks". Even just being out to dinner we get "side eyed" or someone will walk past us and mumble under their breath. I participate in other forums and witness the hatred for whites by blacks. So yeah as I have stated quite a few times it exists on ALL sides of the isles! Implying that it only exists within the white communities is denial and doesn't solve the problem.
You can't be serious with your voter registration laws comment! Those are put into place because we had dead people, Mickey Mouse et. al. voting. There are many blacks holding offices in local, state and federal goverment. So your point here is moot. Heck even if this became reality we have the New Black Panther Party who will come to the rescue wearing military gear and wilding night sticks for the specific intent of voter intimidation.
(Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday gutted a core part of the landmark 1965 Voting Rights Act and challenged Congress to come up with a replacement plan to protect blacks and other minorities in places where discrimination still persists rather than target former slaveholding states in the South. In a 5-4 ruling with the court's conservatives in the majority, the justices ruled that Congress had used outdated facts in continuing to force nine states, mainly in the South, to get federal approval for voting rule changes affecting blacks and other minorities. The court ruled in favor of officials from Shelby County, Alabama, by declaring unconstitutional a section of the law - most recently updated by Congress in 2006 - that set the formula that decides which states and locales with a history of racial discrimination need federal approval to change voting laws.
Governor Pat McCrory of North Carolina signed into law Monday one of the nation’s most wide-ranging voter-identification laws, just a few weeks after the Supreme Court opened the door for such changes by striking down a key portion of the Voting Rights Act. The move by the Republican is expected to touch off a major court battle over voting rights, and the Justice Department is weighing a challenge to the new law. The measure requires voters to present government-issued photo identification at the polls and shortens the early-voting period from 17 days to 10. It also ends preregistration for 16- and 17-year-old voters who will be 18 on Election Day and eliminates same-day registration. Democrats and minority groups have been fighting against the changes, arguing that they represent an effort to suppress the minority and youth vote as well as reduce Democrats’ advantage in early voting. They point out that there is little documented evidence of voter fraud, the principal reason Republicans cite for the changes.
There are many blacks holding offices in local, state and federal government. So your point here is moot. Heck even if this became reality we have the New Black Panther Party who will come to the rescue wearing military gear and wilding night sticks for the specific intent of voter intimidation.
Your comment about black men in prison being higher than in college appears to be a bit of contradiction. You say that things are slanted against them but yet more are in college than in prison. Can you expound on your meaning of the slant?
