How do we know if the beheading video is real if were not able to see it for ourselves?!
People are allowed to watch gruesome horror movies and play violent video games but as soon as some real life content comes out they pull the feeds to protect the fragile minds of the people? I call bull#!
Im a grown man! If I decide to go down this rabbit hole of watching a beheading then I want to mmake that decision for myself!

You can easily still find and watch the video on the web if you wish.

The government knows whats best for you. No need to make any decisions for yourself. Just trust them and watch what they want you to watch and everything will be fine.

ISIS doesn't decapitate people. Thats a figment of your imagination flamed by media propaganda. Everything is flowers and light in the world. The government knows whats best for you to watch or not watch. Trust them.

Are you talking about ATS in particular? Because I see no need for them here, if you really want to see them there are many sites where you can.

You are a grown man, and so you are able to seek-out that content if you wish.....but I believe it has no place here. There are younger people that come to this site and I don't think it would be appropriate for the owners to allow that sort of content.

I am also a grown man and I do not wish to see that sort of thing on ATS. It's disgusting, horrific and it hurts my sensitive little heart to see such things.

What purpose is there to watch some poor bastard get his head cut off. You cannot un see it. The average person doesn't need to see it to know it happened. It's enough that people who have, say it is so. Do you think it is faked or something? Do you think seeing a video would convince you one way or another? I know that if you took 100 people from this site at random and showed them a video of something, several people would not believe it. It is said he was good man and died bravely.
Would you watch people being gassed by Nazi's? Live executions on TV? I think the US is already full of plenty of violence both real and fantasy on screens. We don't need any more. I think seeing too much violence hurts your soul.

As to censorship on ATS, if thats what you were referring to in OP, thats not really negotiable. Privately owned and operated and we all agree to TC's. If you want to see that video you can find it on the web.

So no, it's not boo hoo. Legitimate concerns about censorship outside of ATS are still very much valid. Grown adults still have the right to choose what they want to watch and what they don't want to watch. That right should be respected by all as long as the videos remain within the legal realm. Last time I checked there is nothing illegal about veiwing a death, however gruesome it may be.

The mainstream media blasts death all over the news every time you see an explosion in Iraq or Gaza. Is that less gruesome because you can't see the people being killed? Does it register that every explosion you see lives are being taken? The difference with the video of James Foley's unfortunate death is that it was more graphic. War is a brutal thing... there is nothing ever pretty about it, EVER.

Watching them isn't the problem, the problem is probably already present.
The videos if anything just exacerbate the problem.

No one is sitting there totally normal and watches that and thinks "I best go and sharpen my stanley knife"
They probably already have the hate already.

Stopping people watching the videos is not the problem, stopping the hate caused by 100's of years of wars and religious battles that cause it. ISIS tell their story as if they are the victim, people always attach themselves to the
victim.

And you can. It's pretty easy to find on the web for anyone to see. If you are talking about ATS censorship however, I couldn't agree more with the decision to censor. It's not for everyone and there are many young members and viewers here and to be blunt...no need to promote barbarism.

The video should NOT be posted. It should not be watched by anyone but the authorities.

Why? Because these nutjobs WANT us to watch it. We should not accede to their wishes.

I just got an idea of a new reality show. It's about the atrocities going on around the world, with all the killings everywhere. Every week you can see how, and how many are getting slaughtered in every despicable way. I know it's gruesome, but many will watch. I completely agree. I abhor censorship but in our brave new world, where shock and awe are the constant method du jour, coming in second to sex and titillation, in grabbing the attention of the global masses.

The only way to weaken or kill the beast is to stop feeding it.
