That's a pretty big damn crack...

It could actually occur due to heavy rain, caused by a long drought... it's sometimes common in arid areas

Arid Area ==> Heavy Rain ==> Long drought ==> can cause issues with the topography and loosen up dirt.

Ill say its subterranean drain from the plantations in the distance, they are too green compared to the rest of the place so they must have irrigated plenty

according to this

www.aztecanoticias.com.mx...

its due to heavy rain in the last couple of days

This is how the republicans will finally secure the border.

"Frack-a-crack" industries.

On topic...that is freaky as hell. Mother Earth sure is going through it's growing pains these days.

Doom porn alive and well!

I thought the general consensus was that this is a result of an earthquake from a week ago?

the stresses to do this would be massive. i suspect this is only a small part of the fracture.

I'd say it gives more credence to the expanding earth theory. As I've come to believe the earth is a living being, with a self heating core and oil as the bile, it seems perfectly rational that she is growing.

You must admit if you picture the planet as an expanded balloon, the continents fit perfectly together as you let the air out, so to speak.

It makes a hell of a lot more sense then the idiotic Pangea hypothesis where the continents drifted around into their current location after being all clumped up on one side of the planet.

There are several articles on the 'net reporting excessive groundwater being drawn from the aquifer from the late '40's through the 60's resulting in a drop in the ground water level to over 60 meters below sea level.
Costa de Hermosillo geology on Google.

Also, the area is a sedimentary basin, according to geologists, probably formed with the uplift of the Rocky Mountains and as the Gulf of California rifted open.

Given those two things, it's proximity to the San Andreas fault system and extensive geothermal activity, I think it's curious it hasn't split sooner.

It definitely looks more like water-caused than ground-movement-caused.

As they fly over in the 720p video, you can see fence posts along the road. Two are suspended over the crack itself as they swoop low. The fence is not broken.

Wow, some pics here.

What I asume from the location is near the town of Hermosillo (here on Google maps).

Oh, and at about 1.30 in the vid clip, you can see the dude who caused this crack in the earth running away at the bottom of the screen

Maybe it's a failed underground drug smuggling Tunnel which collapsed in on itself.

Is this video real? I don't know why but the video looks very fake to me, like some kind of CGi. The terrain looks mapped and most of the brush looks very flat...the stuff you can see off in the distance like the green patch look fuzzy and low quality. It just looks strange to me.

Edit: After seeing the pictures posted above, maybe it is real. I still don't know why the video looks so fake to me.
