Short rant here. I think it should be very clear to everybody at this point that American MSM is just as bad as RT - yup I said it. Just as bad.

Many around here claim the MSM is not propaganda simply presenting a bias - then would you care to explain to me why almost ALL of the MSM outlets have been caught blatantly lying about the numbers of people arrested in Ferguson each night?

Seems to me for all the outlets to be reporting the same false number....that order must have came from higher up.

In case you missed it - CNN among many others reported 31 people arrested last night in Ferguson. Real number was 74 or 79 depending on the source.

So why are all of the MSM outlets attempting to downplay the trampling of our constitutional rights?

Sure seems like some state sponsored propaganda to me....This is just one TINY example. I believe everything but 'alternative' news outlets should be labeled as state sponsored propaganda at this point....Rant off.

I plan on making another Rant on Ferguson later. Much to do with the topic of - everybody here likes to slam all the protesters as nothing but looters and rioters taking advantage.

Well where were all of you when Kelley Thomas was killed? When that man was shot in the head handcuffed in the back of a cop car?

Sitting on your asses that's where. Me included. I am just glad to see the people standing up to the paramilitary occupation.

For the record - I am starting to think the Brown case may have been justified which is why it irks me so badly that this did not happen sooner with a MUCH more blatant case of police murder. But I will save all that for another thread

I suspected it for awhile. But

when I learned that the head (CEO) of ALL of the following mainstream media outlets either have a sibling or spouse or child working in the White House, I knew it for certain.

CNN, CBS, ABC

David Rhoades, the current president of CBS News, is the brother of Ben Rhoades, a White House national security advisor.

Claire Shipman, a senior national correspondent at ABC News, is married to Jay Carney, the former White House Press Secretary.

IThe president of ABC News, Ben Sherwood, is brother to Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, a special advisor to Barack Obama.

Virginia Moseley is a CNN Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief married to Tom Nides, a Deputy Secretary of State under Barack Obama.

These are just a few - how about naming some more people?

The mainstream media is totally and completely "owned" by the Democrats/Liberals/Progressives/Socialists and use their power to spread massive propaganda and to try and shape people into "correct thinking"

is it even possible to be fully impartial anymore.

When ever i talk about the news with somone its practically impossible to be 100% impartial because it doesnt matter where you get your news its going to have the networks twist on it.

Why cant there be a network with a straight up facts-only-sources? Is it that difficult to just report the facts without putting a spin on it?

I tend to watch BBC news till it loops, then flick to algazera then to sky then to RT and form a thought from those 4 and thats what i discuss - what a total ball ache!!! cant one ONE be reliable enough to watch by itself please?!

EDIT: i cant even get CNN or fox news - i am not sad about this what so ever.

That's really a great reply. I used to be a big CNN fan, until I saw a man on there bragging - on air - about his connections to the Intell community. That was the day my trust for them went down.

But man, doesn't TRUTH have a power all its own? A connection to divinity all its own? My opinion is that a network that gave itself totally to truth, knowing the hard consequences (employees dying etc) would be a worthy endeavor, both in terms of spirit and in terms of profit. And GOD it would feel good - to those people of conscience in this world of lies - to work for them. A joy that makes it all worth it on its own.

So yeah! I say get it on. Life is short, and man that would feel good.

Peace!

The only question is what you can glean from various sources. It's not about what they tell you so much as what you read between the lines.

But no, it's never been a question in my mind that they're writing their own story. The trick is to find out what it is so you know what's being distorted and which hand to watch while the other is waving in your face. I've known this since my time in J-school.

You cant just rely on any one source, there is literally no networks that are, for the lack of a better word: trustworthy.

Got to read everything and it takes what seems like forever to build a real picture of a global situation, i care, but BOY do they make you work for it.

I remeber when the news would be the same exact storys on every network, now it varys so much, its like a second job simply staying informed
sad face.

Spot on. I used to like Fox news. Thanks to ATS, I don't believe anything MSM, or even alternative media. Can't trust anyone anymore these days.

Does anyone really only get their news from fox news? REALLY?

Some how i seriously doubt it. Fox news is a total joke, CNN is not far behind.

Seriously who gets up and turns on fox news before work for 20 minutes of lies. I really doubt that anyone who ACTUALLY cares about the world does that.

For the most part the site is more weary of the media.

There are actually quite a few itching to call out "Anti American", "Pro" this or that if you don't follow Western MSM. Funny how they showed up soapboxing in the past year.

ATS Members have been on to this for years already.

The #Ferguson spin is part of the Progressive-MSM-Propaganda Scriptoring.

My Mom totally believes in mainstream media. I'm telling her about Ferguson, Ebola, etc... and she's like "GMA and channel 7 hasn't confirmed anything yet" ...*sighs*

A very fine list indeed, and thank you for noting these connections demonstrating the incest of government and media. I was with you 100% until this.

The mainstream media is totally and completely "owned" by the Democrats/Liberals/Progressives/Socialists and use their power to spread massive propaganda and to try and shape people into "correct thinking"

I will applaud your continued diligence under the next "non-socialist" president.

I kind of think they "downplayed" the number of arrests because they don't want the outside world to see how out of control the residents of Ferguson really are.

Great ideal for an op, and if you read some of the replies already posted you can already see the poor people drinking it up.

Ive noticed that canadian news outlets that used to be plain boring and low budget have now turned into a low budget paroting act.

Fox,cnn, msnbc, are all the same just changed the narative and youve got the same crap with a different twist.

Everything is propaganda. Language is propaganda.

The problem isn't the media. The problem is the retarded public's willingness to take them at their word.

Some people forget (or, unfortunately, never realized) that the media only exists to provide public exposure to their sponsors' (advertisers) products. Manipulate you and sell you useless crap. This is all it has ever been. Why would you trust any of them?

The ATS pissing contest over which media outlet is more "propagandistic" is absurd. It misses the point completely.

well heck

Obama signed into law usage of Propaganda on American public

so why are you so outraged, US has been going down for a while now, this isn't anything new

but here are the two problems

the media - lib AND cons - both tout their source as the unbiased side...they are both guilty as heck and we have to recognize that...

But the other problem is, and I see it all over ATS, we sit and talk about the MSM and their biases...where else do we get information? Sure you could hit up more independent sites...but how do you know they aren't biased? I don't really think we ever know the true info of...well anything to be honest

These outlets sell news 24/7. They wouldn't be in business if it weren't for the government giving them news. Outlets compete to get better USG inside access. They are owned. It's really that simple. The USG made Faux News in the first Iraq war.
