ok the problems being perceived in the discussion seem to be missing one important thing. and it is confirmed both biblically and archeaologically.. is this..

if you read the bible in order from start to finish you may or may not notice an astonishing fact. yes, different regions had their own pantheon of Gods. and those regions did war with oneanother. but guess what. They NEVER warred with one another or invaded another land until that land fell away from the true teachings of the path to God's Salvation.

in the old days. and we're dealing with skin wearing bush people here. so dont go imagining cool hairdo's and revolutionary comfort designed sneakers. although many tribes do have and have inspired alot of modern hairdo's, that's besides the point. in the old days, the king was a shaman. and a shaman is someone in touch with the spirit of God. in our books. whoever God has revealed himself to is called a 'prophet'. and in the old days, only a prophet would be a king. this is what gave birth to the term "divine right of kings". a king could not be a king if he was not divine. meaning, knwoing God's Spirit and in Holy Communion with God. now to the people of the area, a Prophet, and a King, was considered a God. and so he/she is. as long as she is indeed divine in spiritual awareness, he/she has been inducted into the family of the Gods. with greater God creator of the Universe above them all.

Thus... one region could have a pantheon of Gods, who were all men in contact with God, or even mytical characters created to aid in teaching spirituality. most likely, the sons of a king/prophet/shaman. but who all worshipped God. and another region could all have a pantheon of Gods, consisting of their men/women who had gained God's grace. the wisest, the strongest, the leaders of the pack. and they all worshipped the one God, creator of the universe who brought them that awareness of him and demonstrated his power in guiding them to their destinies. as kings and nomads who would become kings. but those 2 regions would never have war or slaves between them. in fact they would have excellent relations.

now it was the duty of the kings not only to rule his country, but to guide his country in the teachings of achieving salvation. there was no higher or more important duty for the king. but how could a king who does not know the spirit of God lead people to God when he himself has not achieved it? the answer is.. he cant. though he may try.. and try he will. no matter what, his teachings would be unable to carry across the conciseness needed in words to convey the message as it was designed and intended to be received. and this is what happened.

during a time of prophet's rule, a region would be peaceful, prosperous, and happy. the prophet/king would lead his people, teach them, and correct them when they were missing the mark. but there were other regions, regions without a prophet ruling. the 'savages'. they had no time for spirit stories. or they concocted spirits of their own to imitate, or had stolen from somewhere partial teachings. spawning cult practices that bear no fruit within those regions. but some people who live under prophet's rule may venture into such regions and be persuaded into new practices. which they also brough back home and taught others. creating corruption within the teachings of that prophet's region. only when that region had been fully corrupted in practice of serving God. would another prophet be now raised or used from another land to conquer it, destroy all the ill teachings, and reconstitute the proper teachings of the way back o God. many times merging cultures of his own and the one he has now been ordained to conquer allowing both people's to live amongst eachother peacefully, serving the one invisible God.

another way such a war could happen, was if.. as we see in the cylinder seal translation. the son of a prophet, who has not gained prophethood came to be ruler of a region. eventually, there would be a totally corrupted teaching and the region would descend towards ruin over time.

so what is really going on? everything is connected. all the ancient religions and cultures are all the same. just translated and reconstituted in different ways for the different regions. though he is called by many names in different regions. the attributes of the Gods in the pantheon are to be observed. with the highest of the Gods, always being the one that is creator of the universe, alpha and mega. while he has local Gods on earth in human bodies administering the progress of humanity.

however. this divine right to rule came to an end with the coming of Christ. reason being. because there would be no prophets on earth for a long time to come. so God abolished King's rule on the earth, and all regions obeying God in full through his message from Jesus Christ, instituted democracy as instructed. this move divided the power among the people and allowed the faster changing of hands of power through an electoral system since it is acknowledged that no man is wise enough to rule as king and devote his life to leadership since no man knows God. thus all men are equal in God's eyes. and democracy was established.

as he said. It is not by blood inheretance alone shall you be a called a son of Abraham, or a true Jew. it is not that your father was a king and entered the kingdom of heaven as one of the Gods, that you will be too. if you do not follow the teachings and seek God's salvation then anointing will be denied you even if you were the only son of a Prophet. if the fruit is not good it's tree will be cut down. we also see that when Jesus came, King Herod was not a prophet. obviously. because no prophet is an enemy of another prophet. all are of one mind and knowing God knowing how to serve him would not make error. would not harm eachother, and would have good peaceable relations naturally. in essence, it takes one to know one.

just wanted to get that out first. in short. regions ruled by a true prophet of God all served the same God as another region with a prophet there. and between them they would know this. but the people wouldnt. the people would fall away and allow themselves and their teachings to become corrupted and that is what would make them open for invasion. undefended by God's power.
